The position of Hokage is one of power. The idea is that everyone respects you for your strength. The idea is that with respect you dont need fear. Shikamaru is nowhere near as strong as Naruto. Hes brilliant but not even in the ballpark with Naruto and many others. He will never be Hokage. The other countries would see him as weak. Thats why Shikamarus father isnt Hokage now and never will be. Sorry, twist or not it just wont happen.

you dont need strentght only to be a hokage narutos really strong alot because of the ninetails take that away and im pretty sure that shikamaru would win in a one on one fight its naive to think that naruto needs to be hokage just because its his dream and he's sostrong and does all this and that. i dont htink naruto himself would want to become hokage i think hes gonna take jiraiya's place as the new sannin his dream is to b hokage and surpass all previous hokage and be acknowledged by everyone in the village. he may not really go thruough with that since he's acknowledged already. plus he said what kind of friend his he if he cant even save one friend. not so sure on him an sasuke fighting but i dont think sasuke is gnna see eye to eye either. no idea whats going to happen

Shikamaru can't beat Naruto in a fight...in battle Naruto is just as smart as him and in power it's not even close..like really guys? Shikamaru probably has less chakra than Kakashi and you really think he can go and compete against Naruto? The person who beat Pain? Can Shikamaru beat Pain? umm hell no! Shikamaru's a genius and is elite but he's not in Naruto's class just like his dad isn't in Tsunade's class..don't let favoritism cloud your judgement

he's not weak just naruto's stornger. shikamru is one of myfav charcacters

Shikamaru doesn't hav a diverse amount of jutsu,but shikamaru has brains. I believe shikamaru will gain tHe seat that his father currently has
Naruto will become hokage,I believe before he battles sasuke
I don't think he will kill saskue,maybe sasuke will come to his senses,only kishi knows

Personally i don't think Naruto will go for hokage any longer because of the simply fact that he's taken up Jiriaya's dream of bring peace through no-violent means. That would make being hokage directly opposite to said wish, as he'd need to look out for his military village first and foremost. In other news, a contest of strength isn't in questions between shika and naru, naru wins regardless. Shika just isn't suited to fighting a shadow clone master like naruto, forgetting that he also has sage mode and kurama in the waiting. shika catches him and then what, we've seen that a stronger being can break the binds time and time again. naruto could hold still, trigger sage mode, and thats done. normal scale explosions are things naruto's been getting banged up with for the longest time. then there's the fact that the more beings shika binds the more he drains his chakra. naruto can make insane amount of clones. as for the best suited for hokage, i thinking that's way to up for debate at the moment. wait till the 4th war arc is done first, because as they are now it would be perfect for ending the anime with the villages remaining as one and working to prevent people like kabutomaru, madara, and pein form rising to power like they did again. it was the separation of the villages that allowed people like the members of akatsuki being able to live to become missing nin. i can't help but think that for every member of akatsuki there was a member of the older gen that would have been able to stop their defection in a different vilage from their own. But this is all an opinion based discusion, so i'll accept ur views as long as u don't try and deny mine have so legitamancy. Yami-kun thanks u for listening.
