HOW DOES THIS SOUND? ITACHI AND SASUKE KILL KABUTOMARU AND HAVE THEIR LITTLE CHAT. ITACHI TELLS SASUKE THAT THE STORY ABOUT THE LEAF HAVING HIM ATTACK HIS CLAN IS UNTRUE AND THAT HE JOINED MADARA FOR THE SAME REASONS THAT SASUKE JOINED OROCHIMARU, BUT IN THE END EITHER HAD A CHANGE OF HEART BECAUSE HE DID NOT WANT TO KILL SASUKE OR THE PLAN CHANGED BECAUSE OF ITACH'S SICKNESS AND SASUKE WILL TAKE ITACHI'S PLACE IN THIS PARTNERSHIP.
OR
WHEN SASUKE DOES MAKE IT TO THE LEAF TO DESTROY IT HE SOMEHOW FINDS THAT WHAT MADARA TOLD HIM ABOUT THE LEAF MAKING ITACHI KILL HIS CLAN IS A LIE.

IT TURNS OUT THAT MADARA DID A CRAZY TSUKUYOMI TO ITACHI MAKING HIM THINK THAT THE LEAF WANTED THIS MISSION.
ALL OF THAT ASIDE ITACHI SAYS THAT MADARA HELPED HIM IN THIS MISSION THAT WAS BROUGHT DOWN BY THE LEAF. ASSUMING THE LEAF DID APPOINT THIS MISSION THEY SHOULD HAVE KNOW HE COULD NOT DO IT HIMSELF. HOW DO THEY THINK HE ACCOMPLISHED THIS ALONE AND DID THEY KNOW MADARA WOULD HELP, THEREFORE KNOWING OF HIS SUPPOSED EXISTENCE.

First off, we know that Madara helped Itachi kill
the Uchiha. That was stated a long time ago by
Itachi himself. Its also well known that the
Uchiha where planning to take over Kohnoha. That
was the reason for Itachi killing them. Itachi
agreed to do it because his Will of Fire and love
for the Leaf surpassed his love for the Uchiha.
Itachi sacrificed the few for the many. One of the
stipulations for completing the mission was the
Sasuke would be taken care of and protected. His
harshness towards Sasuke was to make him stronger
and imprint an unbreakable resolve. He felt
terrible for what he did and was waiting for the
day that Sasuke would come and kill him. Also, we
know that Itachi was very sick with some sort of
internal illness. Itachi wanted Sasuke to become
strong so he could pass his jutsu to Sasuke.
Really, the only reason Itachi fought Sasuke so
hard was so that he could draw out Orochimaru and
seal him inside his sword. Itachi will tell Sasuke
but Sasuke will still fight Naruto. That destiny
has been seen by the sage in the prophecy that he
read Naruto.

not to mention they simply cannot kill kabuto..
even is their plans work out itachi wont really
have much if any time to talk since the ET keeping
him alive as well.

i am aware that madara helped itachi, I am only
questioning the circumstances that itachi would do
such a thing. Now that you mention it, the
village elders would not be intimidated by a clan
that they had full confidence could be defeated by
one person. If that clan could be killed by a
single person asleep or otherwise, the leaf
village would not be afraid of that clan taking
over the village. And I know your retort will be
that madara helped him, got it. which brings me
back to my original point of did the leaf know he
was still alive and did they plan on him helping
itachi. Also, we know sasuke and naruto will
fight, i never said they would not. we also know
itachi's intentions of fighting sasuke. we
also know itachi could have beat sasuke, but he
made that sacrifice because he owed it to him, and
he was dying anyway.

well.... one thing i know is that Sasuke at his
current level doesn't have what it takes to
pose any real danger to Konoha.
Also chaosnow, i think itachi's sickness was that he was going blind from overusing his MS. Sasuke would have faced this same problem had he not implanted Itachi's eyes. In fact right after Sasuke fighting Kakashi, he was in excruciating pain.

na itachi had a disease according to tobi and was
taking medicine for it.
