What is Naruto? some might say that its a cool fighting anime show with ninjas. i, on the other hand, think its a lot more than that. i've followed every single anime episode and manga chapter since the first night naruto aired on toonami. this show is more than the badass fighting scenes that everyone loves, its a lot more than that. its about a boy named naruto uzumaki who, since the day he was born, was alone with no parents or friends who tries to make a name for himself. not until the second or so episode, naruto had no idea why every person in his village hated him so much that they wouldn't even look or acknowledge him. then, a man named mizuki used naruto to steal a secret scroll from the village that contained forbidden techniques. when naruto's teacher found him with the scroll, he was attacked by mizuki from behind and told naruto the truth behind the village's hatred towards him. 13 years before the start of the series, a demon fox attacked the hidden leaf village and almost destroyed it. the hokage (the leader and considered best ninja in the village) sacrificed himself to seal the demon away into a baby. that baby was naruto. what would you do if someone told you that there was a demon who killed so many people from your village was inside you and therefore, blamed you for their deaths? and let me remind you that naruto is only a 13 year old kid. after defeating mizuki and becoming a full fledged ninja, he vowed that he would become the villages hokage and make everyone acknowledge him as more than their leader, but just as a person and from there on, naruto worked and worked and worked so hard, doing everything he could so that the village people would just accept him. no matter what people told him, that he was a loser or a failure, he always said that he would never go back on his word to become the villages hokage. that is such a great dynamic for a character that people really look up to because it's a relatable trait that some people try to have. i myself have that mindset that i'll never go back on what i say and do no matter how hard it may be or what people may say. this show, as cheesy as it may sound, has taught me a lot about how to be as a person. never give up, have no regrets, go at what you believe and what you dream of doing because the biggest enemy in your life is yourself. Naruto is an amazing show that cannot be beat. because of this show, i know have my own "ninja way": "Show no fear, have no regret"
