With Obito finally being revealed, I was just looking over some old issues and there is a slight plot-hole I'm curious about (not related to Tobi's identity - just something odd I noticed). When Tobi first makes an alliance with Kabuto, a set of coffins are shown. One of the corpses is Nagato.
He is on the far left. The body is actually Nagato's, not one of the Paths of Pain. What I don't understand is that immediately after this, Tobi confronts Konan, attempting to get her to reveal where Nagato's corpse is. Once again, he is looking for the actual corpse, not one of the Paths of Pain. So what gives here? Is it just a plot-hole or what?
Did you forget that Edo Tensei doesn't
require the body of the victim, just some of their
DNA? So the body Kabuto summoned at the time in
question wasn't in fact Nagato but the body
of the person who Kabuto bound his soul too.
i think choppachoppa has a good point. You DO
need the body of the victim to resurrect him...if
not then everyone would be fighting themselves on
the battlefield. The reason why kabuto
couldn't cast a zombie version of jiraiya was
because his body is too deep down in the ocean.
although i still believe he's still lives.
Kabuto said,to perform an ET jutsu,he need a
blueprint of a person that will be used as an
ET...the blueprint that Kabuto mean is the DNA...a
person that he wish to summon as ET must be
already dead and the soul of the dead person was
not been sealed by any sealing jutsu

um, if it's just simply dna that you need
then kabuto could easily get anyone's dna and
create an infinite amount of dopplegangers into
the battlefield. He created none as a matter of
fact because he needs the corpses of the ninjas in
order to resurrect them. Dna can be found in the
blood when ninjas bleed...so that means kabuto can
just collect their blood and make blueprints.
Kabuto said,to perform an ET jutsu,he need
enough DNA to be used...the point is,to summon a
person through the ET jutsu, enough DNA is
required...that person must already dead and his
soul not been sealed by any sealing jutsu

for the summon soul...to gain control over the

be put into the ET person head...off course,he

The problem with the Edo Tensei argument is that
the corpses shown in the coffins aren't
