The Uchiha Family Branch
How much of the Sharingan do we understand right now - specifically of the Mangekyou Sharingan?
Well, let's take two Uchiha brothers we know: Sasuke and Itachi -
* Sasuke and Itachi's Mangekyou Sharingan both are capable of the
Tsukoyomi, Amaterasu, and Susano.
Upon this very observation we are reminded of another set of Uchiha brothers we now know: Madara and Izuna Uchiha -
* Madara and Izuna's Mangekyou Sharingan are both capable of the
Tsukoyomi, Amaterasu, and Susano.
Now it appears that the Mangekyou Sharingan in each eye is given a unique abilies and Susano if the Mangekyou Sharingan is unlocked in both eyes - as noted by Sasuke during his fight with the five kages. This would also suggest that the heritage of the Uchihas in specificity is supposed to play a role in their Mangekyou Sharingan abilities.
This would also imply that Madara and Izuna are the direct Ancestors of Sasuke and Itachi - the crazy physicial similarities between Sasuke and Izuna would also suggest this. It is a conclusion I have come to as well.
Now there is two other Uchihas I want to take a loot at: Shisui and Obito Uchiha.
Obito: * Has only 1 mangekyou sharingan unlocked and thus only 1
ability; we know this must be his space-time jutsu.
Shisui: * Unlocked both mangekyou Sharingan and this must have had 3
abilities; we know one of these is a very powerful genjutsu by
experience and another is Susano by default.
I am making this thread mainly to make this theory: Shisui and Obito are brothers.
Now remember even killer Bee had heard of Shisui Uchiha and knew him as "Shisui the Teleporter". Now why in the living hell would you call him a teleporter, you might ask. It's a highly likely scenario that Shisui was called this because his second Mangekyou Sharingan ability WAS space-time ninjutsu. I believe that if Kakashi and Obito's eyes are re-united, they will unleash the Koto-Amatsukami yet again. Do note that Itachi noted that the Koto-Amatsukami can only be used once every decade UNLESS YOU HAVE HASHIRAMA'S CELLS - Obito totally has them!

I would make so much since! The chance that Obito
is Shisui's older brother is crazy to
consider, but if it is true then Obito
wouldn't know about it because of his
"death" and the time he spent with
Madara...

Buaha it never occured to me until now that Obito totally would be the elder brother. I don't consider it that crazy of a thing to consider, take a look at their pictures and you are already struck with an eerie semblance.

Interesting...good observation, now that you bring
it up its got me thinking what the difference is
between the Sharingans. Why does Madara and those
like him have an ability that may be totally
different from the rest.
Keep with me on this; when you follow Madara, Itachi, etc.. they have three totally different aspects to their Sharingan (illusion, hellfire, and God summon). Whereas Obito seems to have aspects of the same ability (space-time). Obito's eye can make him intangible and pull him and whoever he touches into another dimension; His pimped out eye can pull Kakashi into the same dimension and can project a worm-hole at a significant distance and pull in items without the need for touch (ie flying projectiles/ objects).
While Shisui's eyes seemed to do the same thing (permanent illusion/brainwash).
Any thoughts?

It is intriguing indeed. We have seen more recently that Madara is also capable of the Amaterasu, which further makes me suspect that Itachi and Sasuke's eyes are decendants of Izuna and Madara's.
