Red hair is a trade mark of the uzumakis. i think
it is possible if Gaara's mom had raid hair.
i cant remember if she did or not. And Gaara does
have a shit load of chakra. will it ever be
touched on? probably not. but Gaara and Naruto do
have alot of similarities.

Yeah, I had a feeling the responses were gonna be
like this. Now that I think about it, theres very
little possiblity that Gaara could be a lost
Uzumaki clan member. I think that the red hair is
just a mix of his mother's dirty blonde hair
and his father's brown hair, resulting in a
red mix for Gaara. I mean there could be a trace
of the clan in him since they were kinda scattered
across the world as their numbers dwindled, but if
he has any of their genes, its not enough to
consider him a clan member... Oh well it was just
a thought.

Sorry not buying it, Naruto is gaara's best
friend wouldn't he mention to his friend in
those 3yrs that he was an uzumaki too or that his
mom/dad was.

If every red haired shinobi is an Uzumaki as you
are thinking, then Sasori should also be an
Uzumaki, such as the girl who trains under Bee. In
retrospect I don't rule out the possibility
of an uzumaki living in any village. But I think
there is something very unique with the Uzumakis
that have been revealed in the story so far that
makes me identify them with the exception of
Naruto. Apart from they having the red hair,
it's also relaxed but not spiky unlike
Naruto's.

dont forget that there is a clan or elite team in
sand village with the name red sand...which sasori
also belonged to, since he was addressed as sasori
of the red sand....i think gara belongs to the
same lineage....
i think it just pure sand village lineage n has nothing to do with konoha or uzumakis....
