I kinda don't i agree with the idea of using Naruto's motto in order to justify your argument about Naruto ending up with Sakura. Yes, Naruto really like Sakura. Let's assume he now loves her, but he doesn't PROMISE or even said a word about wanting ONLY Sakura to be his wife. thus, Naruto still has the option to chose someone else. If ever they end up with each other, it will because of other factor not just simply because of Naruto's motto.

It's not his motto, it's his MO, as in Modus Operandi - The way he does things, who he is, etc.

If he's uncompromising in all other respects, why would he be in this?

When they do get together the set of circumstances will reveal something new, but it's pretty much a foregone conclusion already.

I've never read an amazing epic tale that I didn't know how it was going to end long before halfway through the story. The only questions in a good tale are why, and how, not what. A good epic is about the journey, not the destination, since that is almost always a foregone conclusion.

It's true he's never said that Sakura was the only woman he would be with, but that's because if Sakura ended up with someone else, then he would turn his eyes to other prospects.
However, as long as she is unmarried he will not even consider someone else, since he's never shown any interest in any other woman in the story.

Hinata confessed her love and almost died for him, and either he didn't even thank her (no interest), or the writers felt it was unimportant (ie. not gonna happen).

The only evidence we've ever seen of Naruto with women was just him perfecting his "sexy jutsu".

You are right a good epic is about the journey, not the destination. But there was an instance where Naruto was interested in Hinata. And he even check if Hinata is doing alright using his Sage mode upon regaining his consciousness during his battle but "God Pain". Though he didn't personally thank her after the battle.

And if i interpret it correctly, before Naruto was able to control the power of kyuubi, Naruto's transformation was also affected his own rage/emotion. During his battle with "God Pain", he transformed instantly to 8 tails upon the scene where Hinata was attacked and almost killed. Inside his mind, he can't contain the pain anymore and almost freed the kyuubi inside him.
The more significant the person that is attacked the greater the rage you would feel.

When it is possible, it can be right but it can be also wrong.

@AlmightyWood: that's the same thing for me most shows are so predictable even though we know Naruto will become Hokage (else watching all those episodes would have been a waste of time) its all the little things like this that get to you thinking what will happen

In most stories like this Urequited love never have a *GoodEnding*. But let's review

+ Naruto told Hinata that he like people like her
- Naruto told Sakura that he hates people that lie to themselves like her
+ He checked out Hinata during the chuunin exams while she was being stretchered
- He comicly tried to on Sakura at a hotsprings but then chickened out

@CASS7: This is a matter of Hinata lovers/fans vs Sakura lovers/fans who has more MIGHT win (Sakura is more popular just check the polls)

@Almightywood: & @Sempet: Sakura is already a chuunin so It'd be pointless for her to retake the exams this doesn't explain why Naruto hasn't done them yet though.

@Sempet: Its not just Sakura that calls Sasuke's name alot In almost every episode Sasuke's name mentioned over and over I figured that out in that 'Sasuke Chop! Episode' (very funny btw)

Let me clarify my statement about the Chunnin exam be the reason why it CAN be a moment where Sakura and Hinata FOUGHT. i used past tense coz Sakura and Hinata are now Chunnin though the exam that made them Chunnin wasn't shown. The two of them fighting in that particular exam is only a possibility, thus it is also possible that it didn't happened at all.

NO, YOU ARE RIGHT!!! HE WAS MAD ABOUT SAUSKE TURNED TO 4TAILS, THEN HINATA DRAMATICALLY TO 8 TAILS!! IF NOT FOR HIS FATHER THE FOURTH, NARUTO WOULD BE LOST INSIDE OF THE FOX!! HE WAS JUST READY TO RELEASE THE SEAL!! I JUST BELIVE THE WROITER HAS US ALL IN SUSPENSE ON PERSON TO KEEP US GUESSING!! THAT'S WHAT MAKES THIS SHOW SO GREAT!! NOTHING IS PREDICTABLE!! I STAND BY MY NINJA WAY, AND BELIEVE IN NARUTO & HINATA!!

REMEMBER HINATA WAS INJURED AND THE GARRA BATTLE WAS GOING DOWN ALONG SIDE OROCHIMARU AND THE 3RD!! IF HINATA WAS NEVER DAMAGED BY NEJI, THEN SHE COULD HAVE FOUGHT SAKURA!!

Well I actually said ninja exams, not chuunin exams. (Sakura and Hinata could not have fought during those since Hinata was knocked out by Neji in the first round).

Since they have yet to reveal what goes into becoming any grade higher than a chuunin (that I've seen), a fight between the two to reach a higher grade is still possible.

That exam was the exam where SHIKAMARU alone became a chunnin. the following exams could be the one that made the others chunnin and neji became a jounin afterwards, while Naruto is still doing training under Jiraiya. Reminds me that Naruto is the STRONGEST GENIN in history
