i think madara would be the real body and tobi is
the split one because tobi hasn't
demonstrated to do anything and madara could do
all those crazy jutsus. Plus tobi mention how he
is powerless and mere shell of his former self.
So, i think tobi should be the split.
I
think madara can easily fake his death. He can use
izanagi and make it look he is dead. He
doesn't have to use splitting but i think it
could be a possibility. Also tobi says the fight
with harishama had done alot of damage to him
suggesting he did something like splitting.

Thinking about something...
At the VOTE,which is the battle between Madara and Hashirama,could it be that Madara false his own death?You know,Madara makes himself died,killed by the strongest ninja at that time,which is Hashirama.
See it again,maybe,Madara learn a jutsu that was used by Muu to split himself.Then,Madara faced Hashirama for the last time.The battle at the VOTE is obviously the plan to gain Hashirama DNA and at the same time,false his own death.You know,by false his own death,the Konoha will not finding him.Then,he can carries his plan smoothly without intervention.

Dude,Izanagi can only be use by non-uchiha.Where the hell will Madara find the sharingan for the Izanagi,since he left konoha already?I bet,Madara will not sacrifice his own sharingan for Izanagi.Madara left konoha,he is a missing nin and konoha will find him if there is any evidences that Madara still alive.That's why,I think Madara fake his own death.Madara don't want konoha interfere in his plan.But,I'm kind of agree with you,the death Madara is the real one and Tobi is the split.You have good point there.Is there any thoughts?..

one uchia can use izanagi because its a forbidden
tech and u dont need an ms for it. they just said
u cant do a perfect izangi with out senju blood.
but anyways if he did do something like muu one he
would be extremely weekend both madara and tobi.
but it dont seem to be the case. 2 after the
valley madara was still alive so if they did split
they would have rejoined together. and the fact
that madara soul got resurected pretty much means
he is dead!!!!!

and lets say they did do a soul split or what ever
u would call it. then madara died and tobi was
left well he would be in extreme pain and weak.
orochimaru had a quarter of his soul seal and u
saw the effects but if they did a soul split it
would be at least half of his soul disappeared.
there is more than one way to fake ur death
besides splitting. like when kabuto put a fake
sai. or if a really big attack came just disappear
i am sure he new tobi at the time so if the 1st
did a huge attach and tobi sucked him up leaving
no trace and they couldnt find a body they would
have presumed him dead.

You brought this up, so I think I will share my
longest hidden thoughts about the fight. Upon
learning Sarutobi sensei,kakashi to
sasuke,tsunades feelings to orochimaru, jiraiya to
nagato and orochimaru, Naruto to Sasuke, The Will
Fire is something of different level. Its
something even a genius couldnt understand. This
is just base on my own opinion. But I think
Hashirama upon learning madaras life and death
desire to defeat him, Would you believe that
before the fight Hashirama tried to give what he
want, Would you believe that from the very last
moment before any jutsu was release he tried to
negotiate bargain everything just to save Madaras
soul from the depths of hell, Would you believe
that he even gave some of his powers , as proof of

na i dont think so they where rivals it never
states that they where friends of any sort. i
believe the will of fire is just a deep connection
with its clans men and there for providing a huge
desire to protect everyone in the village. if the
1st did do that i am sure he would have made
madara come back to the village and at least tell
everyone about what he did so they could make a
plan just in case
