Did anyone notice that they changed the name Bound to Bountos within 2 episodes ? When they were introduced they were called Bound but now they are called Bountos.
Just thought it was strange.

They changed a couple of things throughout bleach. Here's a few examples.

Deathgods are now called Shinigami's.
Orihime used to say some name with her technique like "Blablabla, I reject". Now she says "Blablabla, I repel".

aah well who cares as long as they didnt change the voices lol

Yeah, changing the voices will be a big disappointment, its rare they do that on a few anime shows.

I mean its Bound all the time, but they pronounce it as Bounto so one of the translators must have just wrote down what (s)he heard. But its Bound.
As for the repel thing, well...I guess mistranslation lol?
and shinigami and death God. someone who is watching episode 70 should know by now that Shinigami means death God so they wont bother really writing death God when they can just say Shinigami. :)

Yea, I noticed it as well.But in essence, they are all the same.Reject or repel still says the same meaning.Bound or Bounto still came from the same root word and Shinigami or Death God, well you know.
To me as long as it did not change the essence of what they are saying, it's good translation.

This is more likely the answer, unless someone who can understand japanese tells us that it is a different word all together in japaenese then it is probably just a difference in translators.

yeah... for a foreign language to be translated into english.. its hard to translate word for word... with so many ppl able to speak, read, write and understand jap and eng... so...
bound... if you listen its always been pronounced bounto... but they just translated it to bound to be english... its like with names... like in FMA eduwado is edward.... its just the eng to jap... that's all...

They probably wanted to changed Bound to Bounto because that's how it's pronounced in japanese, and how it's written in katakana.

Like how death gods are, they use Shinigami, which is japanese.... as for orihime and the i reject, i repel... uh... Well, I guess they thought I repel was a better word than i reject.

If that's not it, then it's a different translator.

Bound are also classified as Vampires.
Like how Shinigami "reap" souls to go up to Soul Society, and Quincy just destroy souls, Bound eat souls.
Because Quincy die as they get older, Bound can stay alive for a long time (or forever. Don't know which), by eating the souls of humans. Bound usually eat the souls or already dead people, but recently have been eating the souls of alive people. Enter Ichigo and company.
