I was wondering what would be some good things to post in a debate section? Politics...of what country? Religion...too touchy? Anime...I guess? Are there any rules as to what can be posted or what should be adequate material for posting? Just want to cover my bases thats all! :p
post whatever
debates could range from
cookies or pizza?
to is abortion ethically right or wrong?
=P as long as theres two sides - it works
yup... talking about anything, what you want to express your views on, what you feel strongly about.

I don't like the fact how loose the Debate area is. I mean, honestly... There is "WHICH IS BETTER, DBZ OR DBGT" in there. First of all, that belongs in an anime section. Secondly, the people there aren't really debating at all.
Debate should probably be some thing like Debate, Current Events, and Politics. ...Or add in religion if you'd really like. Even IF the "which are better, oreos or chocolate chip cookies" thread was made, people don't DEBATE. All they do is state and opinion then never come back. That's not a debate, that belong in the General Talking area.

A debate is a debate. Just because it's a subject you couldn't care less of doesn't mean other people feel the same way. It's not always what -you- want to debate. If it isn't, then leave that thread alone and keep to a subject more of your liking.
Also, your problem seem to be more with the people than the debate itself. We don't need anyone feeling superior here.

But the thing is, couldn't they have a debate about anime in say, the ANIME section? I understand that you basically told me to shove it because I disagree with how things are run around here, however, I don't really see the point of terrible debates. If the debate section was more more serious things, then everything else could go to one area or another. See, most of the debates in there AREN'T debates (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debate). They are just stating a single opinion like, "I think so and so is better." There is no debate to it if there isn't facts or anything of the like.
See, I do stay away from topics I don't like. I refuse to get involved with quite a lot of things, but I just cannot understand why a debate section has so many topics that pretty obviously belong elsewhere.
Umm why are you debating here.....debate verm in the debate section
hahaha...Just a joke dude. :p
What you have to remember is that alot of the debates you and I Might like, most in the forum wont. The majority of the memembers here are like under 15....need i say more. I Apoligize if I insulted anbody's intelligence. But some of the Younger memebers like to have "Debates" of whatever. So we (Mods, Admins) Try to please everyone a little. At the same time keeping it fair. But dont wory. There are quite a few people here who can hold there own in a good debate or intelligent Conversation. So we are trying to please you also.... ;)
Again if I insulted anbody's intelligence I apoligize :(

That might be a little strange: a debate about debates. I would probably join in on that one just because it is unique.
