Well, in my experience, there is no real effort to things. You just sit there, think, and wait till inspiration strikes. Then you get to doing all the stuff you need to do for your vision to come to life.

Though, I remember back when I made sigs all brushy, there was some sort of effort involved; in brushing alot anyway.
