Its kind of ridiculous how sometimes people can lable something racist if they don't like it. True in a sense the ad was in poor taste, but still don't you think the whole situation is being overblown for an advetisement?
What about those squirrel & rat advertisements

http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=192 (<tells the truth in a funny way)
It took them awhile for them to be removed and they were making fun of stereotypes <blatantly>.
What do you think about it? do you see a racist, bad idea for advertisement <because it will be misunderstood as something racist>, or a good idea that was Misconstrued as racist. <?>
The problem with this ad is it's inherent ambiguity. What is it trying to say about the product? That the new white PSP is more desirable, and will become more popular than the earlier black model? A more beneficial marketing message would suggest that the serious gamer should have both versions, increasing the company's business. If the image was less obtuse, any thought of racism, etc. would never have come up.
