I think I have mentioned before that in the anime it even said that Itachi himself realizes Itachi is stronger than him. Orochimaru would put up one hell of a fight, but would lose in the end.

Orochimaru was just toying with Sasuke then, testing his abilities. Sasgay wouldn't be able to touch Orchimaru even if he didn't have is arms at the time. Thats why when Orochimaru got hit directly by Sasgay's dragon blast he just broke the wires and walked off.

It's clear that the only way to beat itachi's sharingan is with another sharingan (of the same level). So that means that sasuke is the only one that can beat him (unless naruto goes wild and finds a way of defeating him).
So the question is why did itachi let his brother alive is he is the only one that can beat him, seems kinda dumb.

I dnt know why everyone thinks Itachi can Beat him..Just becuase of that technique he used on Kakashi..We're talking about Orochimaru here..the one who killed The 3rd (Strongest Hokage) and put up a good fight against 2 of the Ledgendary Sannins(Spelling) with both arms crippled..All he would need to do is use that technique and summon the 1st, 2nd and 4th and Itachi is a dead man..Would Itachi's Technique work on Mindless Puppets such as the Dead hokages? and dn't forget about all of his Kinjutsus..

i've gotten tired of all the talks about which character is stronger than whom, so i actually busted out my japanese english dictionary and translated the scene where orochimaru said itachi was stronger. this is surprising considering how lazy i am...
his exact words were "kare ha watashi ijiou ni tsuyoi"

this is how others translation of that line looks (if anyone wants to give it a crack, go ahead, i might have made a mistake though i doubt it:
"he is, for me, too strong."
that is wrong though, the word ijiou (forgive my spelling, if its wrong, thats just the way i'm interpreting the hiragana into english) literally means the foregoing, which means this "Said, written, or encountered just before; previous"
what oro was talking about just before was his immortality jutsu.
so, his statement was, "he is, for my jutsu, too strong"

I would put my money on Orichimaru. He's a sannin, and Kisame admit's sannins make the uchiha clan and his 7 katana groupie look worthless. when in doubt just summon that big snake and it'll be over in no time.

Itachi was a former ANBU commander at 12~13yrs, but ANBU's are so weak, imo. Like 2 of them were beaten by Kabuto in Sasake's hospital room, and one of them got burned (badly, lol) by the jirobou, sakon, kidomaru(sp), and teyuya barrier jutsu.

I think Itachi would win. Itachi has the sharingan and he should be able to handle orochimaru. It was also said that Orochimaru feared Itachi and left the Akatsuki. There's a reason for Orochimaru's fear, and I think the reason is because Itachi is stronger.

Orochimaru wouldn't last even 5 seconds. Anyone who says otherwise is a dumbass.

People just don't use commons sense, I will try to break it down for you guys. If Oro can beat Itachi then Sasuke will not be stronger then Oro because we know he is atleast going to equal Itachi. And since Sasuke and Naruto are rivals they will be equal, which that means that Naruto will never be stronger then Oro, which is just stupid.

Also why would Sasuke choose to go to orochimaru when he knows the oro is weaker than Itachi? how on earth is he gonna to get equal or stronger than Itachi when he is following someone weaker?
