I know what you have been saying the whole time. The whole reason I back Meteora is because he is the long standing poster of threads and thus is the one who is known for it. This brings stability to who posts the aways occuring posts (we all expect an episode thread every week). This prevents two people making two different discussion threads.

What I want is there to be an official decree that he and only he can make the threads and he can only make them after the RAW has come out.

good episode, it has flashbacks but still it was good, i dont read the manga

Am I the only one that noticed the severe fuck up in this episode.

When Renji is pleading with Ikkaku to become the new Captain since Aizen betrayed them, he says that no other Vice-Captians can use ban kai. Which is a lie seeing as how he himself (Renji) could use ban kai and is a Vice-Captain (keep in mind that he asks Ikkaku this AFTER the whole incedent with Aizen leaving).

Also, a second mistake. When Renji is asking Ikkaku to become the new Captain, take a good long look at Renji. Notice something missing? Thats right! He's missing his Vice-Captain badge thats usually tied on his left sleeve.

Not to mention, did it seem like they made Renji look like a little bitch in this episode with the whole "you're so great, Ikkaku" , "please train me, Ikkaku", "can I suck your dick, Ikkaku"...or is that just me?

I haven't watched the past 3 episodes, but Renji sucking up? He wouldn't even do that to Byakuya.

I know what they were trying to do with the whole mess-up dealy. They shouldn't have shown Aizen being adducted right then. See, if you remember, Renji got really pissed off after Aizen "died." In the manga, THAT is when he asks Ikkaku to be the new captain to replace Aizen. See? He had taken off his VC badge around that time again too.

They added a lot of filler shit to this episode that was nice and all, but fairly annoying.

I thought the episode was ok but didn't really understand how Ikkaku just became a shinigami and the same with kenpachi. One day they were fighting in some poor town and the next they were shinigami. Did they go to the school and leave to search soul society for opponents to fight and then just return when ever they wanted to? I dunno that struck me as kind of odd.

Actually those were not mistakes in the episode, first Renji probably thought that Ikkaku was better at using his bankai than himself. For the simple fact that he had it for so much longer than he (Renji) did, Byakuya stated that you need to practice at using your Bankai for 10,000 years before trying to become a captain. I doubt Ikkaku had been training for that long but he had been practicing more than anyone else I am sure. I think that is the reason he asked him to become one of the new captains to fill in for the three missing ones, I mention that because it easily brings up my next point. If Renji became vice captain that still leaves two vacant spots doesn't it, why not ask Ikkaku to fill in that other spot leaving us with one slot, right. In terms of Renji not having his vice captain stripe on, not a big deal he could have forgotten about it or taken it off like when he took it off to fight Ichigo, in Soul Society.

I don't want to call it sucking up, asking someone stronger than you to train you. All the other kids who want to excel in martial arts are they sucking up when they ask there there potential teacher to teach them what they know. Is it sucking up asking your professor for help in a class other wise you fell, I think that you just didn't take into account the japanese culture. Renji showed Ikkaku a lot of respect for bowing to him and begging for his teachings, something very much out of character for someone right off of the streets.
I haven't watched the past 3 episodes, but Renji sucking up? He wouldn't even do that to Byakuya.
Depending on your idea of sucking up, Renji has "sucked up" to Byakuya for instance when he was about to get sliced up by Ichigo in episode 16, but Byakuya stepped in and stopped the fight. He "sucked up" to him stating that he didn't need to step into the fight and that he could have taken Ichigo by himself. Personally I think they accomplished what they set out for in this episode, it came off very nicely to me. As DA said I can understand Renji being upset at Aizen, I mean he did almost take off Renji's arm then shortly he explained to him that he was using him all this time.

Then they were allowed to join one of the 13 protection squads. Ikkaku never went to the school from what we have seen. So how was he allowed to join one of the 13.

so it seems that renji wasnt a vice captain at the time when he talked to renji. in that first flashback. he was still in aizen's squad. he was only a VC when he transferred from the 5th to the 6th squad

The same way Kenpanchi was able to join, if you are a good enough fighter then you don't need to take classes to teach you. If you have enough raw talent then you can get polished on the field.

its a fairly nice episode.... all about ikkaku....

ikkaku is a senior of renji after all.... every badass char. has a master....

were juz accustomed to renji being a badass char, also one of the main chars if not then secondary, that showed his bankai 1st before ikkaku and mainly ikkaku is juz one of the background characters....

have they mentioned who is the newest captain yet, without spoilers. Besides that the episode was good, my favorite person is zaraki, seeing him kick the dragons asses.

While we haven't seen an actual fight scene with her, she did tell Orihime/Chad/Ishida/Ganju that she would go ahead where Byakuya and Ichigo were fighting and clear all of the strong guys for them.

Agreed, even though we haven't seen her fight it only natural that she is strong because she is a Vice-Captains and they usually are. They wouldn't make just anyone Vice-Captains.

Also, I remembered that she can do shunpo that to me is a basic skill to become a vice captain.In fact Orihime/ Chad and the others were surprised that she can do it while they were in SS.

I also enjoyed the whole episode with the flash backs and all.Yea, it was kinda odd for Ikkaku and Yumichika to just show up and become part of the shinigami class, but I guess they just cut that info.

I liked this episode but I would of liked it if they made the flash backs shorter and then they would of shown more of the actual happenings. The overall of this episode was good but what I didn't really get was how Ikkaku just suddenly became a shinigami. I thought you had to be selected when you first went to soul society.

As of right now there are new captains, so we are all just patiently waiting.

No we have never seen her fight but because of her rank and her skills it can be assumed that she is a good fighter. For one she is able to withstand Kenpanchi's full power and not even begin to breath hard, which is saying alot. We see flashes of her power when she was interrupted during Ichigo and Kenpanchi's fight, when she got upset.

This episode is very interesting.

Never knew Ikkaku was stronger than Renji...was confused at first why Renji didnt show any loyalty to Ikkaku when other shinigami are around but I guess its just a act to hide Ikkaku's secret of using Bankai.

so ikkaku is captain lvl shingami this hole time,but more liekly is that little pink haired girl able to even use bankai I mean i know beore when she was watching ichigo and zaraki fight and she got inturrupted by that messanger she shot out huge blast of reiatsu when she got mad,I wonder what type of zanpakto does she have
