I noticed something bizzare in his shadow possesion. When he fought Kin he made her hit her head on the wall and he simply backfliped on his feet. later after the preliminaries Gaara went to Lee's room to kill him but shika got him in the possesion and when Naruto punched Gaara shika warned him to remember he feels everything his oponent does and Shika felt the punch that Gaara recieved.

Is this a goof up on Kishi's part or something else?:confused:

Does Shika feel the pain his enemy feels?

The chapter he says he can feel pain is at the very end of chapter 96......

this is something i wondered about too he shadow tsutsu he used to those 2 must been a pretty wick cause in the case all these jutsu's work like this then when asuma chopped hidans head off he should be dead 2.

I think I remember that it was so:

Shikamaru threw his shuriken on her and she did it, too (because of shadow jutsu). After he threw the shuriken he released the shadow jutsu and leaned back to avoid her shuriken..so does she..she saw how he did and of course in the situation it was the easiest way to do the same..and then she hit her head on the wall. After her K.O. he said a shinobi has to know his fight area..to have an overview..so it was absolutely right how Kishi wrote that.

I think the shadow bind is a little like mind control of Ino's where she gets hurt aswell.

Wouldn't it still mean he would have got his head cut off when Hidan's head got chopped off?

well maybe like right b4 he released the shadow possesion just like d1v has said about the Kin thing. it would be smart if she just copied the same thing he did without being in shadow possesion.

If you look closely at the page when he was still in that crab walk thing position you could still see his shadow was connected to kin AFTER she hit her head so he possibly couldn't released it.

...it must be a goof up cuz...or maybe shika did get hurt and he just didnt show it. didnt he have like blood on the side of his lip? or was that Ino? i dont remember

He didn't even quiver after she hit her head and got a concusion(sp?) which if he felt the pain too would have not been consious(sp?)

yea it was into the series pretty early so i do agree......

Its obvious that when he was fighting Kin, right before she hit, he release the posession....and it didn't hurt him

he got hurt when Naruto punched Gaara (>.< die naruto!) because Shika didn't see it coming, and didn't release the jutsu before naruto punched, thus making him feel the effect as well

I don't think that he really... Feel the pain so much as the movement. His jutsu makes the person copy him, but it also makes him copy the other person. ...Since Gaara got hit and was forced to move, Shikamaru was forced to move as well. I think that's what he was telling Naruto.

As someone else said before, he probably released that other person when he slammed her head into a wall. However, even if he didn't, all that would happen is that both him and the girl would stop in mid air at that point since the girl couldn't move past the wall. ...But he still wouldn't feel the pain of being smacked since there was no wall behind him.

The head cutting off is the same way. If Shikamaru's head COULD have come off, it would have. But it wasn't the one being cut, so nothing happened.

I think when he and Kin both threw the shuriken at eachother, that is where Shikamaru ended the jutsu. Of course, Kin would dodge the move; in the same way Shika did. Then, Shika didn't feel the pain. Although it seems unlikely, that's the only possible reason I can think of.

During the Hidan fight, he didn't use the same jutsu. He used the jutsu with the shadow tentacles to keep him still. That is whyhe didn't get his head cut off.:cool:

I don't really think he feels the pain at all. I think he just feels the movement, like Aztek said, or he could have released before she hit the wall like SI said. It could be either one, I don't see any theories other than those happening.
