I was wondering who believe that Kenpachi will ever obtain his shikai and bankai? I know he's super strong without them, but with them he may be untouchable. Let's hear your thoughts...

He may not be able to. Shikai and Bankai are releases of the power stemming from one's soul that inhabits their sword, the distillation of their fighting instincts. Kenpachi, however, may not have a part of his soul that is separate for such insticts. He lives to fight, and always have; the instincts that most separate to form their zanpakuto are core to his very being. Allowing them to form a separate entity within him is probably impossible, and so his zanpakuto may remain nameless, too bound up in his soul to ever find its own self.

Well I hope you recall after Ichigo beat him and he was laying there, there was some small inclination that he's at least interested in learning the name of his Zanpakuto. If Kenpachi wants to do something, he'll do it. If that means Shikai/Bankai, it'll be done. lol

Yea a Kenpachi Shikai and Bankai would be interesting, and useful as the current anime/manga arc has reeeally strong enemies! I def would be interested what it would look like, esp with his gold colored riastu (sp?). But a deep inner journey for someone like Kenpachi? LOL.

I dont think Tousen will be a problem. >_> Kenpachi faught him and easily defeated him. Gin, he's not too impressive either.

Kenpachi with bankai = god-like

I think I've only seen Gin fight twice thus far...and both times, his attacks were so pathetically predictable...he better have one **** of a bankai to make up for it.

Hold on, if i remember correctly, isn't kenpachi's zanpaktou in its released state at all times. Remember that is when ichigo said that kenpachi couldn't get any stronger during their fight, and then kenpachi stabbed ichigo.:cool:

Actually, Kenpachi stated that his zapaktou had no name, and that was its only form. A name is required to achieve Shikai, so the sword he was wielding was nothing more than a sword; he was the one who had the greater strength, not the sword.

meh didnt ken-chan shout out (when he lost to ichigo) what his zanpakutoh's name was and received no answer? been long time :p

Kenpachi and Ichigo's reiatsu are quite similar, its that kenpachi has an attitude of fighting all alone and believing only in himself to be come powerful thus he didnt need his nameless sword's help... but if he did have the time for soul searching, it is very probable he could attain it but it'll be too
god-like for someopne like him to attain it though... he may even become a vizard with such a powerful reiatsu :cool:

Kenpachi will be a god if he ever unlocked shikai and bankai. But hes still badass without them, hes pretty dam good at surviving other shinigami's shikai and bankais and manages to kick their asses with his busted zanpakto.

I hope he can, he would be the broly of bleach

i dont read the manga and only watch the anime but i have the feeling that bleach is nearing its end and kenpachi learning shikai and bankai this late into the show would be kinda random.

even so, shikai with knowing his sword's name is much more powerful than shikai without.

if you listen or read (depends on what you watch) everone is at basic shikai form releasing the name makes the shikai more powerful but through training you can achieve bankai. Plus is kenpachi were to achieve Bankai it would be unstoppable because Bankai reflects the person using it. So his sword would either be really big or it would change its form like the second squad Lt. so and his spiretuakl power will double so old man yama better look out

but see, him becoming unstoppable would be a good thing, since aizen needs some one that is that strong to defeat him, and cuzz things are so slow now in the manga, giving him bankai would help make allot of progress. or so i think.

kenpachi hasnt been in action ever, since his fight with ichigo in soul society arc excluding the filler arcs.... so we kubo may decide to give him bankai during this time when ichigo and gang were in hueco mundo... it wud really be a surprise when kenpachi decides to crash party in hueco mundo, he wud tottaly kick ass! :p

That may be true, but I don't think that Urahara or Yoruichi would just let anyone in... It would perhaps have to be a fair exchange...

Giving Kenpachi a Shikai/Bankai release would just be awesome, it would make him superpowered, but as it stands now, Ichigo is like the Goku of Bleach and I kinda liked it when everyone was at similar levels of skill and power. Chad is another example of someone who needs to get a lot stronger. Even in the manga *SPOILER!* he got his other arm and got all stronger and stuff and still got owned by that one guy.. And now we haven't heard anything from him or the others in forever! Grr.

no i guess he can't since i think no zapaktou would be able to restrain his strength.Also it is his trade-mark to use a simple sword and pawn so roughly bad.It wouldn't be the same if he had bankai,it doesn't fit him this is what i believe.

But then he would be too strong. Which would be bad for the plot and ichigo's "main character" shield.

zaraki is a badass mainly because he cant use shikai or bankai and is a captain lvl shingami and can pwn the shit out of anyone he fights,u give him shikai and bankai and there goes the badass of bleach .

He should learn at least the name of his sword sooner or later. They showed a glimpse of how he felt being nameless. He even gave Yachiru (sp?) her name. What you think he would do for his sword in that situation? I think he will try to at least find out the name given his feelings for being nameless.

whne u look back at how he gave that little pink headed demon her name ,it was almost like he took the name from his zanpaktou and gave it to her .

Do you think that kenpachi stole the zanpakuto from the previous captian that he fought to earn his place as captian? If so he could have not learned his zanpakuto's name because he could have took it from the last captian who didn't have the chance to release it because he killed him so fast.

His shikai might be like ichigo's and won't change much besides the appearance.
BUT, remember, ichigo didnt obtain bankai when he had his fight with Kenpatchi. So... I think he might obtain bankai after a long time of manga has gone by, Ichigo will be A LOT stronger, they will fight, ichigo will woop his ass.

Why is that?

If you remember in the fight between him and Ichigo,Zabgetsu said that his sword was screaming from pain or something.Kenpachi hasn't shown the amounted respect or trust to his sword,so I guess his sword will return that "favour" to him.

I think by the time winter comes around in the manga he will have at least a shikai, if he's lucky maybe bankai; but if i would save that to some really climactic part in the series.

If Kenpachi is able to release a bankai, it would be insanely powerfull.

It would look nice if his zanpaktu turns into an unstoppable wrecking ball on a heavy chain, which can be swung around. Whatever it hits will shatter under the raw power it posesses... this thing will be unstoppable, just like Kenpachi himself.
