It's obvious..The woman that was kneeling by the gravestone with the ANBU members in the war with Orochimaru..that scene? That was Rin, the ANBU leader. Notice at the end of the scene, she put her ANBU mask on?

oh crap its aruko, Kenji here if ya remember, anyways i totally agree with you, i believe she was called by a different name by kakashi also, and altho she may be rin its unlikely.. she is not like her at all, hair, face, body etc, kakashi can still be compared to his child hood from gaiden but Rin doesnt look anything like the ANBU women.

The leader of ANBU is NOT Danzou. Danzou WAS in charge of the ANBU Root, which was detached ANBU...
The regular ANBU, answer directly to the Hokage (if we're talking Konoha.... Although the only ANBU we've seen are from Konoha). So technically, the Hokage would be the leader of the ANBU. There are captains and such, but yeh; the Hokage would be the leader.

That woman was Yugao, not Rin. Rin looks different and oooooh wait a sec, ZOMG! The name ain't Rin, it's Yugao!

Plus, there is no real ANBU leader, there's a captain of each squad and the commander is the current Kage.

leader of the anbu is the hokage, rin is most likely dead. Why, because kakashi stated that the closest people to him were dead. I would think that included his team and sensai. Unless she pops up as a member of al then i dont think well ever see her. (which im not saying shes in aka)

yeah im sure some one like that is leader. but i would bet if hokage said for the anbu to do something, then they would have to do it. Like the invasion from the sound, the 3rd had the anbu scouting. So really the hokage is the leader.

She had a basket of mushrooms and things and had like all these cutting tools and she was sitting on a giant mushroom. But anyway, I kinda think that if Tobi is Obito, then I'd like to think that Kakashi's old team would be back together again. Rin is probably a wanderer now. But when the time comes, she'll come into the manga again.

well the Hokage is the leader of ANBU but he has captains set up so the purple haired chick( cant remember name) is a captain along wit the guy during the chuunin exams who wore the white cloak and the only reason y Danzo was leader of ANBU root is cause they didnt report to the Hokage they were kinda like completly separate from the village

so if kishi will bring back obito as tobi that mean that rin is alive. So will we be seeing yondaime or white fang, thats everyone close to him. He said everyone close to him was dead
