Okay I know that there have been some books that I have read that have either scared or just plain creeped me out... I read a short story lately that did this to me so I just wanted to see what creeps all of you out.

That Dan Brown shit? It scared me, because the writing was so fucking terrible. I couldn't sleep for days, I kept thinking that plot holes would jump out of my cupboard and eat me.

M.R. James is a classic ghost writer. I have a collection of his stuff, and I haven't read it in ages, and I need to. It's so fantastic. Not really scary, but it has this atmosphere.

Writings by Edgar Allen Poe are sometimes interesting...more weird/funny than scary for me though o.o
