I was just reading the manga and watching the anime when I thought to myself, all the creatures that are summoing what kind of world do you think they live in. Can you imagine a giant frog carrying a sword walking around or a giant snake or a ferrit carrying a fan (Temari's summoning). I wonder if we will ever get an explanation as to how they come to the other world and what is the strongest in the other world.

Maybe if we get an explanation on the youmi we will get a better explanation of summoning creatures. On a side-note, in the second Naruto fighting game for PS2 (only available in Japan), one of the levels is the Frog Chamber (or something like that). In this level it has Gambunta sitting against one wall and alot of other frogs around the chamber. Not sure if this is how it is supposed to be in the manga, but it is an interpretation of the world of summoning animals.

I don't think that they have they're own world, but that they live in certain parts of the Naruto world. In the forest of Death, we saw giant snakes, bugs, and tigers. I don't think that large animals aren't all that uncommon in their world.

Naruto and everyone else are really lilliputians, and the animals that they summon are actually of normal size, from our world, and they live in cages in people's homes. So the summons are just chakra jutsus mixed with regular animals!!!!!!!!!!!

the stomach of the frog that jiraiya summoned when he encountered itachi and kisame lives in a mountain... so i guess they all live in mountains... slugs can also live in a mountain, right

When she helped Shikamaru beat Tayuya. Her attack that cut down a whole forest was the ferret. Anyways, I agree that Summonable creatures live in their world, and that the scrolls just act like instant teleportation. Also, not all summonables are giant, those giant ones are the kings of their kind.

I also think that the summonable creatures live in another world, maybe they have their own village like the ninjas. Maybe in an animal world. :P

I suppose that could be true since Naruto summoned those little frogs and tadpoles when he first started trying to master the jutsu.
