did u ever notice that if u litter on the free way the fine is eighther 1000 or 5000$? do you think it should be lower or higher? i thik lowr its just 3 pieces of trash and its a freeway for god sakes

5000 what? pesos? usually not that much however it is done to stop people from littering...not that it really does a good job of it =/

The whole point of it being so high is to prevent you from throwing your trash onto the highway in the first place. If you get charged that much money for throwing a single piece of paper out your window, don't you think you'd be more inclined to find a waste basket next time?

um...ppl nowadays just leave them on the ground. at my school, the basketball courts is where the most trash is found. ppl who play basketball at lunch dont have time to throw it away cuz its a few feet away and they want to start a game already.

same goes for some lazy ppl at school and other places

and since i go to a highschool, theres a lot of trash in our school. sometimes i dont notice the trash, but i do see those signs on dumping your trash on the road and charging u a lot

well heres a fact: the U.S. was not even close to the top ten cleanest countries. Canada dominated everyone three times in a row straight and they are still in the lead.
you'll notice that most countries are so clean, yet they poor/rich/or at war.

even if you try to lower the prices down, theres always gona be someone complaining that they should change the price back to make people throw away their trash. either way i'd just ignore it, but i still throw away my trash in the trash can. :)

Should raise the penalty as high as possible...I just don't like people littering...KEEP YOUR RUBBISH AND THROW IT TO BIN....THAT IS WHAT BIN EXIST FOR...

If you had to pay a few thousand dollars for trash, unless you were extremely rich (and even then, it still matters quite a bit), you wouldn't forget to put it in a can next time. 'Sides, most people on the highway probably aren't going to have millions of dollars.

I here that, in the end paying the fine works 90% of the time i mean god i don't think youd litter again once youve payed off that fine. You'd have to be really thick otherwise

Oh well.. Littering.. mmm what should i say.. Man tamed nature allomst everywhere.... If you litter in a man made everionment.. Streets cleaner will pick it up and trowing it away. The trash ends up at the same spot anywayz... So it doessnt matter And besides if i litter i just help people get jobs...

So my point is.. don't litter :D nahw it just a principle.. keep your shit with you or dispose it properly.... High fines would help people remind of this principle though... :D

i think it should be higher to teach those people who like to litter, and the money should go to those blue collar workers who clean the freeway or take off the garbage.
