Well Spanish and Italian are both from Latin descent if you learn one you will understand some words from the other language. I know Spanish since I was freakin' born and I am 15. I have heard some people speak Italian and French and I understood some of the words, I also had to read a book at school and the character was speaking French but I translated what I could so the class could kinda understand what is going on. It doesn't really matter what you learn first, it is important that you master (mostly) before starting on the next one.

Well both languages are really similar if you pick one of them up quickly then you will get the next one even better because some of the words will be familiar since they both come from Latin.

That is a good question, and I have a response that could add more to this story...
But it IS a spoiler so only highlight the sentence if you a. read all of the Tsubasa captors or ones on Syaorans parents, or b. dont care....

The Tsubasa storyline is more of a continuation of Card Captor, and so I do not really think it is a question of "better", but of is it "needed"?

Sorry about the spoiler, but I just wanted to add my input...
