I heard it from a friend...

http://www.newschannel9.com/news/police_967617___article.html/students_teacher.html

Police in Waycross, Georgia say they have questioned a group of third-graders about a plot to kill their teacher, apparently because she had scolded one of them for standing on a chair.

Earlier a prosecutor told a newspaper the nine students are too young to be charged with a crime under Georgia law. However late this afternoon NewsChannel 9 learned that three students are officially charged with conspiracy in the case. Two of the students have also been charged with possession of a weapon.

Under Georgia law, consirpracy charges requires an act in furtherance of the plan (you have to do something other than talk about it)

The students include girls and boys, ages 8 and 9. Authorities withheld the students' names.

Waycross Police Chief Tony Tanner says school officials alerted police last week after a pupil tipped off a teacher that a girl had brought a weapon to school.

He says police seized a broken steak knife, handcuffs, duct tape, electrical and transparent tape, ribbons and a crystal paperweight from the students, who apparently intended to use them against the teacher.

All students have been suspended for various lengths of time, depending on the severity of their involvement. All will be required to attend anger management classes.

I dunno, took me a while (like, fifth or sixth grade) before I figured out ways to kill someone. I think they're pretty smart for their age. They were creative, too. I mean, a crystal paperweight? Ribbon? That's almost as original as using a pig-shaped door stopper.

Stupidity is not just a state of mind, but a way of life.

And they would have gotten away with it to, if it werent for that mediling kid and thier stupid dog.

but seriously, only suspended I think the real crime was not expelling those kids, seriously who is the idiot now, the kids, or the board who only, suspended them?

I heard bout this, like, earlier last week. I was like, "what? third graders?"It sounded kinda funny though. There were two girls and one boy. One brought the knife, one brought the clean up supplies, and the other was supposed to close the blinds (well that's what I heard).

I heard about this on the news, and thought it was pretty interesting-- Because on this day, I also heard about the 12-year old killing the attacker story, as well as the first grader bringing 2 handguns to school. As I was watching these 3 different stories, I thought it was amazing of how kids nowadays are turning out. I mean, obviously not all kids are bad, but the fact that the a bunch of third-graders were able to conspire to attack and possibly kill their teacher? And all for standing on a chair? tsk tsk...

Nice views LN. /sarcasm

Anyway, this is a bit wierd for my tastes. Hate to hear in about ten years that they're guilty of similar murders, but it is likely to happen since they're going to get nothing but a slap on the wrist for what should get you jail time no matter how old you are.

Wow. I just posted on the story about the 12-year-old. Big difference, eh?

I agree with Seal_Master, how stupid are you to let these three stay in school and just get suspended. Not only are they still a threat to the teachers, but to the students too. It creates a whole new sense of insecurity.

LN: That's not funny, man.
