I'm not a POT fan but, I got the first volume of manga from my local library (library are cool!), I read the first two chapters and got bored...I havn't finished it yet. It doesn't seam all that cool, but hey, I don' t really like tennis, so why would I like an anime about tennis.

haha me too..but when i tired playing with my sister..i realised it was kinda hard unless you know how to play or at least the basic rules XD

I LOVE PoT! *___* I practically breathe, eat, live and dream about Prince of Tennis XDD And I´ve got so many favourite characters, that I can´t decide ;___; I have volume 4 and 5 in English, volume 1 in Japanese and almost the whole series ^^ I really love the series very much and Tennis also ^^

ne ken-kun...w'sup? hehehe...i'm still busy with school! ^^; well, POT is just like Slam Dunk (hae you seen that anime?it's a basketball anime! ^^) the story is mainly about tennis!!! a certain tennis school club who competes for the national tennis championship. They will meet a lot of different characters, techniques in tennis, friends and enemies and sports..hehehe...it's great fun! the main character Ryoma Echizen is only a freshman who just transferred from US to Japan. He's the PRINCE OF TENNIS!!! he's the only freshman who made it to Seigaku Tennis regulars...^___^ it's very great and entertaining!!! You'll love it!!! ^__^ na kabaji??? ... Oozu!

I just started last week. I think it's alright. Although it's just tennis, I guess it's cool. I'm not too far into the story, though. I've only seen bloodshed once so far, when that guy threw the racket into Ryoma's face........

Can anybody tell me if there's more bloodshed than that?

pot is awsome! i finished the whole series and i'm almost done burning it. my friend got me into this anime cuz she plays tennis and she would alwase talk about it so i decided to watch it. its seems boring cuz ppl think that its just a bunch of ppl playing tennis...what so great about that? well its just the way its put together i guess..

I watch it... 1-145 ... that kid is too good. I loved it in one of his matches when he was around 5-1 or something and he was about to lose he goes "No body beats me in tennis" he said it in english .. and with an accent to .. i was lmao... anyways... it's a good story line.. there's no fighting and no bloodshed so most of you guys won't like it, but who cares what you think...

man i this thread look at post #33. that was almost 1 year ago. now i love prince of tennis and know everything abot it. im so ahead of the game i've read all the manga and yes even up to chapter 314 now in the nationals and i watch and DL every OVA that comes out every 2 months. ITS AWSOME. i even used my avatar spot in this forum for prince of tennis.

i especially like the tenipuri specials for some reason...quite amusing i guess. What episode is the Zenkoku Taikai hen of prince of tennis up to at the moment, since i've only seen 3.

the national OVAs are only up to 3. they say it will only go up to 7 but i cant see that happeneing because its so long. OVa ep 4 and 5 will come out by the end of this month.

yup yup its still good. but theres one thing i dont quite understand about the ending and the start of the national championships... i thought ryoma went back to america at the end of the TV series after his match... so how comes hes back for the 1st day of the nationals then, i mean his matches in the US open havent finished before the nationals, isnt it??????? i thought they clashed?

its difficult to translate, but 'mada' kind of means: 'not quite' or 'not yet', and the reason he says it to people who he beats or arent good at something, means that that person he says it to 'isnt up to it' yet.

as for 'da ne' is a casual form of adding to a sentence. he sometimes changes the ending of mada mada, depending on the level of politeness.
