I'm actually not the biggest manga reader. I tend to watch a lot of dubs. Yes I know I am a scrub, but my reasoning is pretty good I think. Since I play a lot of WoW I like to listen to the anime in a language I can understand while I am playing.

If you want any tips or stuff I'll be glad to help. Last month I joined a local chess club and played in my first "real" tournament, so you could say that I really like chess (though I have only been to the chess club once :P I should go sometime these days)

If my father is here (and if finances allow it), who knows, I might even go to england to watch the game there (I've only been in london, actually its airport. Me too, I've only been to 6-7 Jets games (not counting Soccer/football). I was at their comeback game, but didn't get to see the comeback :( My dadhad to drive me home (3h) sleep a couple of hours, and then drive back for work (2-3 hours) so since the Jets were losing pretty big, he decided to go home to get some extra sleep. I begged him, a lot, to stay, stubbornly saying that they will turn it around, but noooooo, he said its impossible. IT WASNT! Damn sleep! Sleeping is overrated!

I get the arguments against soccer, which because of my father I call football, but I still like it. There are boring, do nothing games in all sports. Its the fandom that hooks people in in soccer - it just gets crazy.

Live sports > TV sports in most cases. The atmosphere is better and you don't have someone constantly telling you what's what - demands knowledge and attention to enjoy. That said, live sports < TV sports because of money. Beer is so expensive and if you have ever watched a baseball game without beer.. well I defer to Homer Simpson when he went off beer:

but that'S partly because in football you tackle more dangerously. in rugby you are only allowed to tackle the guy who carries the ball. blocking is not allowed, and if a guy is catching a kicked ball, you may only tackle him when he got it and landed again. but it's pretty rough.
i play prop, that is a forwarding position. meaning i am the basterd who takes up the ball and rushes in the enemy defense like crazy. but i like it. ^^
