Bullshit my ass. Due the math yourself and check. Or do i have to do it for ya?

The time from the earth to the sun at c would be a little less than 500s, but lets keep it at that.

at 99.9% time dilation is 22.37, lets say it is 22

22*500 seconds= 11000seconds
one hour has 3600 seconds

11000/3600 = A fuck load closer to 3 hours than to several years.

good morning.

i may have given a bad example, but relativity is much more complicated than you make is out to be. gravitation, objects etc. i am no expert in math or physics, and i admit my example may be exaggerated in the case of 99.9% c. if i'd have said 99.9999999999999% c the calculation would have looked different.
i also forgot to mention, that i meant c to be nearly 100%. also the calculation is far too vague considering an object in spaceship size.
so i admit, my example was poorly elaborated, but i am still right.

Your calculation was wrong! You said 99.9%, 99.manymorenines% is a different matter. Don't call bullshit on me when I'm right.

c is c. c is always 100%. v is a different matter.

Your principle was right, but your freakin calculations were wrong! I never said anything about the principle.

And I obviously know more about the freakin matter. Relativity is one of my favorite topics, if not my favorite topic of physics, and I like/love physics.

TheBaron

"Theory of relativity" = Everything happens in an acceptable degree to someone.

for instance, it was sold a couple of years ago for 7 million \$ - some call it expensive - others call it "relatively cheap, considering what it is"

Agree'd Silver.. How 'bout we make a thread in here, where we, whenever some idiot makes a new, useless thread, link to it?
For instance, KYF makes another thread, and I reply by writing a link to the thread in the spamzone, that goes like: "No, we do NOT need this fucking thread, go play CoD:MW2 instead" or some shit. That would be stimulating :)

Honestly, I am getting tired of the "Amterasu is a fucking T/S Jutsu" - 'till Kishi has given us that info, it is NOT A FUCKING T/S JUTSU! Could those of you not just "accept" that untill we know what it really is? 'cause let's be honest here; You don't KNOW shit - you just guess. Guessing is ok, but stop saying what you KNOW is right, instead of saying what it MIGHT be or MIGHT not be at all.

I liked them both equally. Soap remains a badass. Epic fist fight at the end of 2 with a hell of a finale. My complaint about the first one is killing the marine off the way they did. For fucks sake, he survives the nuclear explosion and the helicopter crash just to die 5 minutes later? What the hell is wrong with Infinity Ward?

For the second game...I hate Brazil. Fuck that place.

That's a hell of a line up. There are a few bands on that list that I wouldn't care to see, because I hate punk rock. But most look really good.

I've seen Zombie twice now and holy shit he is awesome. Expect to see a combination of robots, hot chicks, and fire.

90's grunge is better than most of todays garbage.

Oh, without a doubt. But I was after opinions on the union tours that seem to be starting up again - I could add Alice In Chains in that, but they didn't really break up but went quiet and lost Layne Staley.

Some of the new music is OK - just odd when radio stations are playing together. I also wonder how long until the lesser bands start coming out of the woodwork, too.

And just trying to keep a good conversation going.

15 Things You Shouldn't Be Paying For

http://finance.yahoo.com/banking-budgeting/article/110384/things-you-shouldnt-be-paying-for?mod=bb-budgeting

Basic Computer Software -- Thinking of purchasing a new computer? Think twice before you fork over the funds for a bunch of extra software. There are some great alternatives to the name brand software programs. The most notable is OpenOffice, the open-source alternative to those other guys. It's completely free and files can be exported in compatible formats.

Your Credit Report -- You don't have to pay for your credit report. You could sign up for one of the free credit monitoring services online to get a quick look at your credit report. You just have to remember to cancel the service before the end of the free trial. Or you could do one better and visit www.annualcreditreport.com, the only truly free place to see all three of your credit reports for free once a year.

Cell Phone -- The service plan may be expensive, but the phone itself doesn't have to cost a thing. Most major carriers will give you a free phone, even a free smart phone, with a two-year contract.

Books -- There's a cool place in your town that's renting out books for free: the library. Remember that place? Stop by and put your favorite book on reserve. And if you don't feel like getting out, visit www.paperbackswap.com and find your books there (small shipping fees apply).

Water -- Besides the monthly utility bill, there's no reason to shell out \$1 for every bottle of water you drink. Bottled water is so last decade anyway. We're over it, and into tap, filters, and reusable water bottles. It's cheaper for you and better for the environment.

Credit Card -- With as many credit cards as there are available on the market today, it's easy to avoid a credit card with an annual fee. Unless you're dead set on a particular perk that a fee card brings, skip the annual fee card and pocket that money yourself.

[Why Spending Less Can Make You Happier]

Debt Reduction Help -- Speaking of credit cards, if you're in over your head with credit card help, there are many free sources you can turn to for help with your debt. No one is going to be able to magically wipe away your debts, but there is help out there that will set you up on a debt reduction plan you can handle. Start with a visit to the National Foundation for Credit Counseling.

Basic Tax Preparation -- If your tax situation isn't that complicated, then you should probably be preparing your own tax return using one of the many free online services. It's now common for e-filing to be free as well with many services. You won't even need a stamp.

The News -- Leave it to a blogger to try and kill off traditional print. I'm not anti-newspaper. I just don't find them practical anymore. Skip the daily .50 cents and get your news online. And for you dedicated coupon clippers, you can get most of your Sunday coupons online now too.

Budgeting Tools -- There are many budgeting tools (both online and desktop) that offer up the service for free. Don't ask me how they do this, but who cares. If you're looking to reign in some of your spending, the good news is you can do it for free.

Pets -- This is a controversial one, I know. But there are likely many pets down at your local animal shelter that could use just as much love as the pure-bred types. There may be a small fee due to the shelter for shots and basic care, but you'll have your pet home without paying a mini-fortune.

Shipping -- If you like to buy online, you probably use coupons to get a percentage off of your purchase. Take your skills to the next level and look for coupons or promotion codes that offer free shipping. If in doubt, visit a site like www.freeshipping.org.

[Get Out of Debt the Right Way]

Checking Account -- Isn't it nice when a bank takes your money, lends it out to earn money, and then has the audacity to charge you for the service? What a joke. Checking should be free. If yours isn't free then move to one of the many banks that offers a checking account for free. And the same can be said for ATM fees, teller fees, and checks.

DVD Rentals -- Did you know that you can rent DVDs from RedBox locations for \$1 a night? And better yet, if you use one of the coupon codes from www.insideredbox.com you can avoid the \$1 charge. Free DVD rentals! Most libraries now have free DVD rental as well.

Exercise -- Skip the expensive gym memberships. Visit your local park for a walk or run. Do basic push-up and sit-up programs in your living room. Rent a workout DVD from the library. There are many free workout programs you can download online as well.

Lets start a new topic what other things that should be free?

Chris Cornell's talent was put to better use in Audioslave as far as I'm concerned.

I'd tend to agree with you there.

Wow. That's a work of genius right there. Sign a contract to get a subsidized phone? Who would have ever thought of that! It's certainly not as though providers encourage you to sign a service agreement.

Anyone who couldn't figure all of that out for themselves should be shot.

It is posts like this when I wonder how the hell we Canadian's got the nice guy label. We really are often ready to shoot people for good reasons... :D

I wouldn't say overall that all new music is crap - there is a lot of really good bands out there. It is more of what the music industry is pushing in hopes of making money. Broad appeal bland music just draws in a bigger crowd it seems and so you end up with boring artists and their clones who hog up the airwaves. I've always found more interest in indie music anyway... and brit rock - just doesn't get old for me.

I only have one gay friend that I hang with, but I know about five or six of them. One of which is a tranny (he dresses up like a girl and even uses the girl's bathroom and everything, creepiest shit ever), and two are like, drag queens... Gay people are hilarious to hang around.

Sadly I only know like three lesbian/bi chicks. None of which I'm interested in.

Yeah most "lesbians" in high school and college end up with men ultimately. Two out of the three lesbian/bi chicks I know, I expect to end up with men. They might like girls, but most of them end up prioritizing family/procreation shit over their sexual preferences. Or something like that. I don't really understand the mechanics of it, it's just a vibe I get from them. -_-;

But they're wrong. OH SO WRONG LOL

This.

Also, guys tend to be attracted to what they think they can't have. They like the chase. The girl on girl thing is of course a huge bonus, but they also like the idea that they can "conquer" something no one else can, namely: turning a lesbian straight.

You have no idea how many boys have stepped to me and claimed they would be the ones to get me "back" to liking cock. Because apparently every lesbian starts out liking penis or something, ide.

So basically its a challenge to make them straight? I know of two lesbians and they lodge a police report of a guy raping them. And when they nab that that guy, he says he didnt rape them, they challenge him to make them straight.

But the guy still goes to prison because of raping.

Tsuna

Tsuna what would you consider a male slut? A friend of mine tolled me everyone was calling me a slut last Sunday.
I use the same standards for men as for women. But my definition of slut is apparently different from most peoples', 'cause my friends don't agree with me when I say certain people are sluts, but whatever.

I consider someone a slut when they're sexually promiscuous. I personally don't respect/condone promiscuity, so casual sex, one night stands with strangers, having sex/sexual acts before the third date... those are all things I consider slutty, but my friends don't.

@ACt: indeed lol

@kluang: Apparently that's how some guys feel about it. I don't know how the male mind works, and it's unfair to make a generalization on the entirety of the male species based on a few members, but from my experience, men just don't seem to be able to accept the possibility that women could not be attracted to penis.

My point was more that it is a perception thing. I think a lot of people would have a lot of sex if it was open to them, but the stigma of "image" or whatever restrains them. True sluts just don't care about that and generally dress accordingly, too.

If something happening in another dimension affects the dimensions below it i.e. something in the 7th dimension would effect us.. then in turn would events from a parallel universe ripple into our existence and affect what happens to us through the 4th dimension

yea well since you can't get a grasp on that part then contemplating actions from an infinite number of parallel universes going in an infinite number of directions and outcomes having an affect in this plane of reality isn't going to be a topic on which you'd contribute much.

What I'm thinking is something along the lines of a butterfly affect but across parallel universes

I cant get it? you cant get it! Me saying that it isn't confirmed=i cant get a grasp on it. WTF, my logic post was right, it is your enemy. How should anybody talk to you about this if you will believe what you wanna believe?

BUT

If you are talking about infinite parallel universes, than a simple action there wont affect anything here. If you say infinite, then you obviously mean the "each choice leads to a new universe" theory.

Actually the only way something in a parallel universe (any kind) could affect us is if it affects spacetime. Someone taking a dump wont mean anything, unless due to chaos theory it causes a later effect on spacetime.

well I just assumed since you were ready to go the it's just a theory rout you didn't want to talk about the topic I presented so .. um yea

Did you just watch Justice League Crisis on Two Earth?

Are you saying if I go right, then my paralel will go left ?

As far as I know multiverse is a theory and there's no fact to support it.

Even now scientist are still searching for the answer. Some are researching and some even went to ancient egyptian, Greeks text. One guy in my country try to coin multiverse because in the Quran there's a line that said seven heavens and similar earths in it.

All I'm saying with everything they said and research, its still a theory unless someone open a dimensional rift.

ACt
08-23-2010, 10:18 AM
I'm still not sure what you want to discuss, HR. The whole multi-verse theories sprung from the rather confusing nature of the quantum world - mainly that most of it deals in the probability of where things are or what they could be doing. You know, wavefunction collapse and all that jazz. (I won't claim to be even close to an expert.) So, discussions on other worlds or even infinite worlds really can only take place if we talk quantum events, because that's where the research is. And quantum physics has yet to be completely reconciled with other sciences, biology especially.

So to discuss whether or not we are altered by actions in simultaneous worlds is a pointless exercise because we have no info to really work from because it is a loose theory meant to describe the quantum world. I mean, we could do the few hypotheticals like the multi-world explanation of Schrodinger's Cat, but that's even an example to try and simplify the problems of doing quantum physics. Overall, from what I understand of the theory, the new worlds are formed based on the outcome of events but not because of them. So to say that if my other self in World X did something, it would effect me doesn't seem to match. More likely, I make a decision and a new world is sprung from the opposite decision.

Even more likely is that there is only one world that I live in and that is the only one I can feel, describe or alter. We only ever get one choice. Because that's all we know.

But something happening in one dimension wouldn't effect a different dimension since they exist on different plans of reality.

To answer this simply no. It is not possible that we could be affected by decisions & or actions made by our alternate selves from another plan of existence.

Yea I'm talking about in real life.. it was just something to ponder is all and got to looking up some shit about the 10th dimension and when I got mindfucked by the thought of an 1th dimension my mind started to wander and this came to mind
See there's a problem here because what you're referring to isn't real so you can't actually be talking about real life. Well whatever you were reading was simple science fiction & not actual fact. Are you a follower of the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard or something? I know what you're real problem is though. You smoke to much ganga.

What I'm thinking is something along the lines of a butterfly affect but across parallel universes
The whole idea of parallel universes that you're referring to is about a plan of reality where things would be different depending on whether or not you decided to go left instead of right. That in of itself leads to an infinite amount of possibilities for different plans of reality however since these plans of reality aka dimensions are completely separate from one another based on the actions that were actually taken(whether or not you went left instead of right) this so called butterfly effect couldn't actually exist. Meaning the decision to go left in one reality wouldn't effect another reality were you decided to go right since for obvious reasons you never actually went left to begin with. I hope I'm braking this down to you simply enough since you were obviously high when you started posting this bullshit.

I didn't quote the rest of your post since I think these parts of the conversation pretty much state what you were talking about in a nut shell.

Numinous

Did the S/T discussion in Naruto section spawned this discussion?

See there's a problem here because what you're referring to isn't real so you can't actually be talking about real life. Well whatever you were reading was simple science fiction & not actual fact. Actually, theoretical quantum physicists have provided mathematical equations concerning the 9+ dimensions and their existence. If Science will be able to prove practically that all those dimensions and not just theoretically, only time will tell, but it's now a serious scientific subject and no longer exclusive of science fiction.

And you never know, Vengeance, sometimes science fiction writers get some future stuff right, like Jules Verne, but...

Are you a follower of the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard or something?Hubbard... he was so goddamn awful as science fiction writer, does anyone even read his books (that aren't linked to the cash cow called Scientology) anymore? Not even Battlefied: Earth is that good, and the movie adaptation made it clear. So I'm counting on nothing that Hubbard ever wrote to be true in the future.

The physicists that are considering the 9+ dimensions are saying that the dimensions above are affected by the dimensions below, but the contrary doesn't verify.

That's why a change in time (4th dimension), like a problem with 2 solutions, won't affect our reality of 3 dimensions (you don't see a duplicate of yourself doing what s/he would do if s/he solved the problem the way you didn't solve it), but will affect the 5th dimension (time deviation). That's also why we don't see time travelers popping around the corner (6th dimension) or your counterpart in a alternate universe having a talk with you (9th dimension). So don't worry about a "butterfly effect" from a dimension above ours, because it doesn't happen.

Actually, theoretical quantum physicists have provided mathematical equations concerning the 9+ dimensions and their existence.
Based on what exactly? There imagination of course. All of that so called information isn't based on a single ounce of fact. It's like saying God exist simply because there's a book written about him. For obvious reason this simply isn't true. Both of these things simply put can not be proven making both of them in my eyes works of fiction.

If Science will be able to prove practically that all those dimensions and not just theoretically, only time will tell, but it's now a serious scientific subject and no longer exclusive of science fiction.
The problem is science can't prove it since its made up & based off of science fiction writings. This is just another example of people taking works of fiction to seriously & preaching about it like a gospel as if it were actually true. This is basically another version of God, Scientology, Dark Matter, & that 2012 bullshit.
