Last night I was leaving work, chilling in the turning lane to get on the highway, and there is this chick in the car in front of me texting on her cellphone while she's driving. Or just looking at it or some shit, I dunno.

Texting while driving, pretty stupid right? But people do it all the time, nothing worth posting about.

But that's not all!

She also doesn't have her headlights on. And she's in a black car. And we're turning onto a highway that has no street lamps or anything. And it's fucking nighttime.

I'm sitting there thinking "Eh, parking lot area has a shit-ton of street lamp thingers. She'll flip them on once she gets on the highway. No way anyone is that goddamn stupid."

Wrong. We went a good half mile and she's in full stealth mode the entire time. Just her car and mine on the road at the time, just a small 4 lane highway thinger. But how is that even possible that she didn't notice her lights weren't on? I fly up past her just so I can look in my mirror and see what that would look like, couldn't see her at all. Holy shit, that's crazy. So I let her catch up and I look over at her...still texting or some shit. Holy fuck.

My bro, who works with me, has a glass bottle half full of disgusting peppermint tea shit and suggests I throw it into the side of her car to get her attention. Throwing shit always sounds like a pretty good idea to me, so that's what I do. Now she looks...but I didn't think about what I should do when she looks. Whoops. Luckily my bro busted out his quick thinking skills, reached across, and flicked her off. I laugh like a goddamn pirate.

Then I slammed on my breaks and flashed my high-beams on and off while honking my horn (Probably could have used the horn instead of throwing shit, but eh). Then flew up on the side while flashing them on and off some more. She finally figured it out and turns on her lights. I stick my hand out the window, flick her off, and then drive away. She was like 320lbs, so it's cool.

.lol Road Rage... One time we chased this pack of angry drivers down from cutting us off just to roll down our window and exchanged insults...

I'm glad I had my first day off in like a week and a half, yesterday...

Well, when it's one of those times, I become resourceful and take whatever I can rip off and flush down the toilet. I remember one time in high school, I seriously almost shit myself. Had to catch two buses home, each one was late (the first bus driver made me late for my second bus because he wouldn't drive with kids yelling 'n shit)... One of the toughest days of my life. I remember every second in agony. Physical and mental torment. Would I, at 17 years old (the age I was back then) lose all of my self-respect in this manner? Before I could realize it, I reached my stop and ran faster than I thought I could. As I passed down the allies, more than once, I thought about taking a shit, somewhere in the back. But people might see, I could be caught, and well, that would be a shitty story (in more ways than one). I somehow made it back to my house, keys rattling, eventually, forcing myself in. Rushed directly to the toilet... The rest is well, ya know... It was tremendous...

Creatures with Infect deal their damage in the form of -1/-1 counters or poison counters (10 poison counters = that player loses the game). Combined with Proliferate it's even more obnoxious. Proliferate means you chose any number of counters and add another of that counter to whatever is affected.

How can I get started? ._.

Buy a Fat Pack of M12 (9 packs of 15 cards and 20 of each land, which is like Pokemon energy cards if you ever played that), it is the most recent "core set" so it has reprints of some of the most used cards as well as several new ones. I picked one up today for $42CDN, so it would be like £3 for you. You can also get an idea of what the game is like by downloading the Magic: The Gathering demo on Steam. Or the game for $10USD.

Downloading the demo on Steam first, then might get the game instead of the cards if I like it. Right now I'm mainly loving the artwork.

Ah, Pokemon card games were fun, I once traded a Charmeleon for 50 cards. Also played my fair share of Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid <.< fuckin' trap cards.

Pre-assembled decks would probably be best, that's what I started with and it can give you a pretty good idea of what is required in a deck. Planeswalkers are a fairly major part of the game, so you could also look into one of the deck sets focusing on them. How can I get started? ._.

Basically like you and Mal said, just start buying cards/preconstructed decks. A lot of the newer precons are actually pretty good, instead of just being there for parts. And once you have an idea of how to play, and enough cards (protip: you will never have enough cards), you'll be able to create your own decks.

As for learning the game, it's pretty straight forward. Think of it as chess with twists, you have to think 4 turns ahead at all times. The thing you have to always realize is for every rule in the game, Wizards of the Coast has abilities that break those rules. Or they'll come up with an ability to break a rule.

You know it's hot out when the heat index is hotter then the actual tempature itself. *sigh*

Very nice. I got that same Praetor in my first few packs of New Phyrexia as well. More recently, I split a box of M12 with a friend of mine and opened two Titans (Frost and Sun) in the first three packs. The only other one I got was Gideon, but my friend will trade me almost anything for him so I'm still happy.

I'm still trying to think of a deck to build around Sheoldred. I know a reanimator type deck is perfect for her, just need to figure out the logistics behind it. Archenemy (me) match, and I held off both of their decks with little problems. One of the Commander decks has a creature that whenever it attacks, you put an Angel, Demon, or Dragon card from your hand into play tapped and attacking that opponent.

Those 2 are nice, but with Eladamri equipped with a Whispersilk Cloak in my deck, along with Asceticism, my creatures are untouchable. Last night, when it was essentially 2 vs 1, I have 9 important creatures out and won the game. 3 Llanawar Elites, 3 Wellwishers, Eladamri, the Warcaller, an Elvish Champion. I had a couple of Wood Elves as well that I played in the end, but they never saw combat.

The other commander deck that I had to hold off was the one with Gurruk. After playing my Archenemy deck against an under the table alliance, I understand just how overpowered it is. Their commanders couldn't stay on the battlefield, and with a Master Transmuter in play, I kept bringing a creature back to my hand before they could attack me that, when it hits the battlefield, it prevents all damage done to artifact creatures (of which all but 1 of the creatures in that deck are artifact creatures).

I did end up losing the second time we tried Commander v Commander v Archenemy (when it basically turned into 2 v 1), because the Gurruk commander deck was shuffled better (friend had just bought it before he came over) and he was able to get more than 2 mana out. I still killed him, and brought the other guy to within 10 life, but I ultimately fell.

Thanksgiving was okay on my end. Helped my grandfather make the font on his windows bigger and turn his sound up. Then went over my mom's boyfriend's house and ate turkey and whatever. It was meh, but they have a blind ferret, which I guess is pretty cool. And a cat that didn't look very much like something I'd want to touch. It kinda hissed at me because I walk around like a ninja (battle socks) and snuck up on it without even trying. Was ready to kill it before it could bite me, so I wouldn't get any diseases and shit. But it made the wise choice to not fuck with me and ran away instead. What a pussy, haha. Met one of my mom's boyfriend's kids that I never met before. Adorable little girl. Like, really adorable. It was all like "Nice to meet you" and stuff to me. Awww.

Black friday is stupid and I hate everyone who went shopping during that shit, but it was a pretty okay day too. I had to work early even though my store has no black friday sales. Had to go to target to get a couple of things and as I'm walking past the restrooms I hear a muffled sound like someone yelling for help. I go up to the ladies room door and it's coming from there. My initial thought was that some damsel was being assaulted by some fiendish brute, so I'm about to bust in there to kick some ass. But I realize the cries for help sound like they're coming from a larger woman (They have a distinct accent or some shit. Fucking disgusting.). Yuck. So I walk over to the customer service desk right next to the restrooms and tell them that I think some lady needs help in the bathroom. Then I go get my shit real quick, check out, and as I'm leaving I see a massive jabba sized fat chick walking over to the customer service area with the help of two target employees. Her ass is soaking wet with wet shit (wet stuff, not actual shit. Though, it might have been actual literal shit. I dunno.) all down the one leg of her sweatpants too. I have no clue what happened, but YUCK. Still, I sorta kinda saved that jabba babe's life. Probably. So yeah, goddamn hero.

So I had to drive my sister to our grandparents' house for Thanksgiving. My sister is scum, so I'm like, "FFFFFUUUUU, but whatever." So I pick her up, and the first thing she says to me is, "Can I tell you a secret, but you can't tell Mom or Dad?" My response: "Oh, God, are you pregnant?" She says no, but that she was still drunk from the night before. A that moment I told her I could still smell the alcohol because she reeked of it. So the long drive up she's drunk dialing and texting her friends, laughing like an idiot, and occasionally smacking my arm. She keeps saying this is a bonding experience between us, and I just kept making fun of her. Then I realized that our Uncle Jim was going to be at Thanksgiving, and he's the lulziest man in our family. So she's horrified at the thought and I'm laughing like a Goddamn Asian pirate. She's also terrified about how the family is going to react to her being drunk and I told her they aren't going to give a shit because this side of the family is awesome (also, they knew how to party/drink back in their day). I also told her that they were gonna find out anyways, regardless if I said anything or not.

So we get to our grandparents' and greetings and such are exchanged. Talking, joking, blah blah, and all the while she's got the dumbest grin plastered on her face and those OH SHIT I'M A-SCURRED eyes. She eventually tells Dad that she had a long night and he says, "Oh, so you're drunk." So now we're all busting on her for being drunk. My dad and aunt are making jokes that if she passes out we're gonna draw on her face with Sharpie, and even Grandpa said he would, too. Dad says, "We're gonna take pictures and post them on College Humor," to which I add, "And the caption will be: Not done by frat boys, but by family."

And then Uncle Jim shows up. Oh, lololol. He's making fun of my sister, regaling us with tales of Wild Turkey, lulzy adventures, and told us about how his friend, the ex-president of the Hell's Angels make a post on Fagbook about how he "shot his first turkey. Scared everyone in the frozen foods section." We made some jokes about Charles Manson (like how Jim probably knew the guy {seriously, he knows everyone}). Then we eat, make fun of my sister some more, etc. She eventually gives up and takes a nap, then wakes up an hour or so later with a hangover. So we all started talking and yelling really loudly, and Jim would clap his hands real loud every so often. My sister was absolutely miserable.

Oh, and I ran a 5k in the morning and dropped 55 seconds off of my time and saw my best friend who's visiting from college.

Actually, they, as in the department that handled the case, smeared Martin's image to make it seem as though his death was more justifiable just as much as the media portrayed Martin as an innocent kid. In any case, there's no clear resolution to this situation that's going to leave everybody happy, and quite frankly it's almost absurd just how much attention this incident is getting, it's not that I don't get the releavence, it's just that everyone else seems to have blown it out of proportion.
The fact is, regardless of your standpoint in this issue it's unfortunate that it ended in the death of someone, regardless of race, kreed, culture, age, religion or otherwise, no one should have died in this instance. The problem is that both sides of this conflict have so severely polarized the circumstances without even one shred of significant evidence. On one hand you have the supporters of the kid, who piant him up to be Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and the most adorable puppy you've ever seen wraped into one, sorry but bullshit. I didn't know the kid personally (neither did the majority of his supporters) and by all acounts I doubt severely he was the axe wielding, gun toting, gang leading, terrorist that his detractors make him out to be, but at best lets be honest even if he was just an average american kid just going for a walk that day that still leaves him a far cry from the second coming of christ that he's sometimes portrayed as.
On the other hand, you also have supporters and detractors of the gunman, who, in some instances is sold as a paranoid, trigger happy, future leader of the kkk, or conversely as an red blooded, eagle loving, flag saluting, patriot who was just doing his duty as an American...Bullshit.

I don't think stupidity needs a reason which is why its called stupidity. I live about 20 minutes away from where the shooting happened and everyone within a 50 mile radius are pretty pissed off with this Zimmerman dude calling it a racism at its finest. I personally am not buy into that crap because of all the mixed news I'm getting from every local channel and internet. For starters, the police fired 41 shots total in about 10 seconds, and 19 shots hit him. Not condoning the shooting, but if you're going to cite something use the actual incident, not some made up number.

Second, go into detail of what happened. Diallo matched the description of a serial rapist. When the cops tried to stop him to question him, he ran from them into his apartment building. He had his back to the cops, and was back lit so they couldn't see anything but a silhouette. When they confronted him again he was reaching into his pocket for his wallet, which with the lighting they assumed it was a gun, and that it was aimed at them. So, like any other reasonable officer, they opened fire (something all cops are trained to do, btw, not just New York). The lead officer, during the shooting, fell backwards and the other 3 thought he had been shot by Diallo.

Third, all 4 cops were initially indicted on second-degree murder and reckless endangerment charges. But the pretrial publicity made the trial location un-fair and biased. They were then acquitted by a mixed-race jury. I'll repeat that part, a jury of mixed races acquitted them. Not an all white jury, but a jury of several different races.

Fourth, all 4 cops are nowhere near that precinct anymore. 2 retired almost immediately after the trial, the other 2 transferred precincts, and I believe 1 of them has since retired.

If our justice system is still as awesome as it was with the Casey Anthony case I expect him to quickly leave Florida in the near future. Although I haven't heard about people shooting at police vehicles, which doesn't make a lot of sense to begin with. Although the Sanford black community is insane just like the Apopka and the west Orlando region so I wouldn't be surprised.

The point I was trying to make, was that although this case in unfortunate, I don't think it trully represents an actual NATIONAL problem to suggest an inherant societal issue. Rather, that though unfortunate in any light, this was more in tone with a communal issues, or perhaps at most a limited illumination on 1 state's particular issues with it's legal system. Beyond that however, I personally feel that this mournfull circumstance is just that, a mournfull, and limted circumstance represenitive of one small fraction of American society in one particular state. I live near chicago and for what it's worth I understand that kids die everyday, weather here in my home state as a result of gang voilence, or over in Burma as a result of focused genocide, all are unfortunate, sadly, few are trully significant...

OK, I see my points are missed that A) the first comment really wasn't serious and was set out as it really isn't an indication of anything and B) that there is one important issue out of the whole thing is just as unlikely as there are many. You can't boil it down. The real significance of the incident was one person got shot by another. The rest is added narrative by media and self-interested groups. The response is actually more evidence that America is fucked up, but never in the statement do I add that they are the only fucked up place.

I thought of this ingenious plan to pull it off. See, my roommate and I have the exact same class, just different hours and different TAs. The professor makes the exam the exact same for all classes. What I'm going to do is go to my roomy's Final Exam with him, dress incognito and put the hour and name of my TA on my exam (you have to do that anyway just in case the exams fall into different piles). Thus, they'll think my exam got switched or something, at least, that's what the guy who looks at my exam will think... Genius just genius.

How big are/were all of your classes? My classes were regularly 140+ students and all exams were written in massive halls of 500+ students from all kinds of classes.

Well, lecture halls can hold at least 200 students, I only had two classes this semester that were in rooms that big. The exam I had to sneak and take was in a small room, however. So, maybe about 50-60 students max?

Well just got done doing an advisor appointment at the community college I plan on going to (called Metropolitan Community College), going to take basic classes in the fall quarter then culinary in the winter quater, it will take roughly two years to get my assiocate's degree in culinary but I am willingly to do so. It'll be good and I am uber excited yes probably expensive route to take but I am dedicated to this no matter what no more doubt, and let me just say I'll be the best damn cook all of you will ever witness. You won't just have seconds w/ my food you'll have thirds, fourths, and so on. ;)

UPS is making me fuckin lose my mind. Thursday, I was expecting a package, they just left a "sorry we missed you note." I thought, ok, maybe I missed them, they'll deliver it Friday. Come Friday, nothing... I checked the tracking information and guess fuckin what? They're on their third damn attempt and won't ship out again until Monday... I'm even more angry because I stayed up all day waiting for that shit and the deliverymen didn't even knock! No notice either. I'm even more angry because I thought I missed them Thursday, but that's not possible, I was home because when I called my dad, he said he saw the note on the door Thursday when he came by to visit that day. So two straight days in a row UPS fucked me over. I swear if I have to go to a damn terminal to track my package down... Trying to get ready for classes and I have to deal with this shit.

Anyone who's done real shipping knows that both ups and fedex have their pros and cons each. I've learned from experience, once the package doesn't arrive on it's expected date (they all, including dhl, provide expected doa), I'm either calling or looking up online what is going on with said package.

UPS generally sucks. The usual driver for my area is a pretty easy going and fairly cute woman though, so that makes it a little easier to deal with.

I would go up there but it's a bit of an inconvenience, at least this weekend it is. I won't go unless I absolutely have to. I've been reading stuff about UPS.lol I haven't been ordering as much from them until recently, that's why I'm just noticing the incidents now.
