NO dude I think they both loose like everyother time one of them looses....but I do think and gai is the only one that can beat Itachi...since he knows haw to withstand the Sharigan.... he knew more than one way the way he told the other 2 jounin and a way they "arn't ready for yet"

baki never died cause u see him find the boddy of da kazekage the only time we saw him fight was wen he fought gekkou hayate too bad he had to kill him = ( gai is fast i noticed that most of the sand nins are kinda slow and focus on ranged attacks ex gaara - sand kankouro - puppets temari - fan

The only action we've seen out of Baki, was in his encounter with Hayate. And in that encounter, we only saw one of his techniques. The ability to create a blade of wind, and cut through virtually anything. This wasnt done with any speed, Hayate was pretty much set up for it. It was a big dissapointment, seeing Hayate, one of the most skilled leaf nin's being taken down by an unpopular sand jounin. Yes Yokio, if it hadnt been for Hayate's illness, I imagine he wouldve won. Ok let me get back on topic. Maito Gai, we know alot of what he's capable of, and given that, Baki doesnt stand a chance. (due to Gai's ability to unlock a number of the celestial gates, due to his taijutsu mastery, and the ability to perform Ura Renge)

no i dun think so ... hayate even without his illness i think he is just a low or average level jounin but baki is entrusted with the invasion of konoha ... he is like there and no one can see him through and he is in charge in the earlier part of the invasion if he is not strong why would orochimaru sent him to go take lead first ?

Hayate was able to master the Konoha-ryu, Dance of the Crescent Moon at a young age, hes not a low level average jounin. He was a special jounin just like Ibiki and Anko, besides that, Gai posesses massive speed and strength, as soon as he opens as many of the celestial gates as he needs to, the fight will be his. He might not have to do that, anyway, we dont really know anything about Baki, not enough to put up a logical argument.

yahz, ... but baki was like making a fool out of hayate ... saying he was a talented ninja that could master that in a young age but defeated him in the end so he was like making a fun out of him ...

Sorry but I just dont like Baki. I liked Hayate as a character, and Baki killed him while he was at a big disadvantage, I just dont think it was the death he deserved. So, I may just have a biased oppinion but, I just dont like Baki at all, therefore, Im going to defend Hayate as much as I can. Oh well, though, Ive ran out of info on Hayate, theres just not enough on either him or Baki, so none of us can really say anything about what they were really capable of. But the real fight is Gai vs Baki, and Gai would truly win, I think this was already decided.

Well, not all of the Sand-nins are weak. Gaara, Kankuro and Temari, pretty much blew through every leaf nin they faught...that didnt have any major talent (minus Lee). Gaara, had the power to efforlessly kill pretty much any genin he wanted. Temari was able to effortlessly defeat Tenten, but was defeated by Sasuke (a genius). And Kankuro was pretty much the same as Temari, except he was brought down by Shino, not without poisoning Shino though (Neither Kankuro or Karasu touched him the whole fight actually). I was just saying, so the post was pretty much pointless. And I think that Kazekage was more of a leader than a shinobi, unlike the Mizukage, or the Hokage. And Baki did kill Hayate, who was a very skilled ninja for his age, so, Baki has to have...some skill, some.. I think Gai would effortlessly defeat him though, I know Genma was about to beat him down, when Sasuke and Gaara's fight was interrupted.
