is Itachi afraid of Jiraiya? and if itachi is afraid of jiraiya it must mean jiraiya is stronger than orochimaru

I doubt that highly.. I mean I think it's the other way around. Because Itachi clearly broke free of Jiraiyas' move easily. I would like to see them go at it but I think Itachi will beat Jiraiya.

I wouldn't say easily, cuz after he used that last jutsu he could no longer hold up his sharingan. I think that Jiraiya would be able to beat Itachi, and I think that if Orochimaru had his hands that he could too.

Good point but I think Itachi has one advantage on both of the. The mangekyou sharingan(hopefully I spelt this right). But Jiraiya and Orochimaru do have their good points to like Orochimaru can use forbidden jutsu.

itachi said they will have trouble getting naruto since jiraiya is hanging around him and protecting him, and kind of incinuated that hes scared of him because he told kisame not to fight him. but the world may never know o_O

I think He wasnt afraid, But he knew that Jiraya would kill Kisame with ease, and he would have more then likely beaten Jiraya but taken severe damage. Thus defeating the point of trying to steal Naruto.... Just my theory

yahz, he had a 50 50% chance of beating jiraiya but kisame would probably be killed in a sec but itachi could either defeat him or take severe damage or die ... but if thats so, it would beat the motive of just stealing naruto ... dats y he left saying no need to worry bout naruto in his state ... he was meaning dat naruto pose no threat at the moment so they retreated

Kisame is weak as hell compared to jiraiya! but Itachi will give him a run for his money!

how come everyone says that kisame is weak? we havent seen him fight, unless there was something in the manga later on that happened and us anime watchers dont know about

My thoughts are that Itachi and Jyria are equal in strength, Kisame hasn't really faught yet so we don't quite know. I'm pretty sure that if a fight between any of them breaks out, it would be a good one.

jiraiya is the best out of them he can beat orochimaru and dont even mention itachi as it seems the whole akatsuki is aiming to kill orochimaru but hes still alive i dont think itachi is all that great.....

he wiped out the whole uchiha clan yes but maybe that was because they were surprised as he did it in the night as well also im sure when they saw him unless they saw him take a life they would probably be asking him why and who did it its not like they were all aware of it and why is taking out the whole of that clan a big deal...destroying a mountain with a tail is a big deal when u have nine and putting all that in one boy...now thats something....itachi knows his place in the ninja world thats why he ran

so thats why when gai came to back up asuma itachi chose to ran away ... cause he was not confident of beating another jounin after using the 1st legendary jutsu of the sharingan ... and gai had the speed ... and sharingan greatest weakness is the opponent's great speed ... so when itachi met up with jiraiya ... he used the 1st legendary jutsu on sasuke ... and used the 2nd 1 to break free from jiraiya's jutsu and kisame told itachi on that episode "itachi-san couldnt u ?" itachi replied"no need to worry about naruto at that state and i need to rest" after saying that his sharingan was turned off meaning he had a hard time keeping it up so he "offed" it

Jiraiya is not stronger than orichimaru. He doesn't want to fight to cause a war he says that mulitple times to kisame. Secondly he would sustain alot damage after fighting jiraiya. Itachi didn't say that they would sustain a lot of damage he said that if they are able to kill Jiraiya they too will die along with him. that show that Jiraiya is stronger watch ep 83 where Itachi said that even if him and the other guy plus somemore people it wouldn't matter. look what happen to kaskia and the others two ninja Itachi and that guy try to kill them but they didn't go head on with Jiraiya. also Itachi order was to get naruto if Itachi knew that they were stronger wouldn't they have succed in their mission? i got all of the eps and watched them all too and read the manga up to the latest one and there haven't been a sign that Itachi is stronger than Jiraiya.

i think you are ALL jumping to conclusions here. I mean, so far Itachi has not been shown in the series for very long, and when he was, it wasnt that long.

Second of all, hes barely had any contact with Jiraiya so far, and hen he did, it was in the middle of a fight, so there was really no room for opinion or talking. Also, even if Itachi was afraid of Jiraiya, How would we know. Itachi is completely emotionless almost, so we would not be able to tell so far.

Nah I dont think Itachi's afraid of Jiraiya. I dont think "afraid" would be the right term... Itachi's so emotionless... I dont think he could possibly feel fear. He just acknowledged that Jiraiya is probably stronger than him (Ep 83). Though we all won't know for sure until they actually fight. One thing for sure, if they do fight, it'll be a kick ass fight ;) .

Itachi is surely afraid of jiraiya. Remember the episode when itachi and his companion (I forgot the name), itachi said that fighting Jiraiya would be detrimental to them. Itachi: "On the worst case scenario, we would both be killed. on the best case scenario, we would beat him but we will die with him. The outcome won't change even if we have more men." That is how great Jiraiya-sama is. Itachi even use amaterasu, his "when there's no other way" jutsu just to escape from Jiraiya's powers.....

Anyway, its 100% Jiraiya. But Itachi isnt afraid of him. He just knows that he would lose and avoids any contact with him. And after he was able to break out of that barrier, Itachi was complitley exhausted while Jiraya didnt even break a swet. Maybe some of you people think that he is strong cause he beat Kakashi so easely, but 1st: I dont think that itachi would lose in TaiJutsu and second: He used the highest rank nojutsu on him.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but when Itachi first came to town with that guy with the chakra eating sword (I know I suck, I can't think of his name), didn't Itachi say that the two of them wouldn't be enough to face Jiraiya? The went there to get Sasuke but when he saw Jiraiya he had to devise a plan to separate the two of them, which led to Sasuke being alone in the hotel and Jiraiya and the pretty girl, etc.
