Hmm there both friends and Konoha jounins so its hard to decide. We haven't seen Gai fight much, but im guessing his speciality is taijutsu.

Kakashi is better in my opinion.

Persoanlly I LIKE Kakashi better...But skills wise...yeah..well they are still equal if they've been competing for so many years.

Ahh, this would be really close IMO. Kakashi posesses the Sharingan, and is a former ANBU member, and Gai is a taijutsu master....not to mention he can open a few of the limit gates. So, just pick whichever is your favorite, and go from there.

i think gai is better ... well we can see gai nevers gives up and has a strong will so i tihnk genjutsu wont work on him ... ninjutsu i think he will lose out ... but taijutsu and speed he will excel ... besides he can open gates ... and gai fighting with kakashi with sharingan is equal to without sharingan .. he knew how to counter sharingan since they fought before .... so gai win .... *poses gai nice guy pose*

hmmm....if there is a match between these two, it would be a great one....in terms of speed and power, i say gai has the advantage....his taijutsu is one of the best in konoha....in terms of skills, i say kakashi...he is'nt being called the 'copy ninja' for nothing....it will be tough to decide but im in favour with kakashi....

In terms of stratagey, kakashi would win...but taijutsu and strength Gai is the best. I just find though that Gai would land a few of his powerful moves and kakashi would be done..then again think about it like this. Kakashi and Gai have had their rivalry since they were children, I think that we would see a different side to both of them in a fight. Since we really haven't seen that, it's hard to tell who would really win?

I personally think that they're both great, adn they balance with each other well in comedy situations :) I don't really look for which is better than the other.

Kakashi. he can copy Gai's taijutsu with sharingan so Gai's taijutsu attacks aren't an advantage + kakashi's better at jutsu

i like both of em....in terms of speed and strength, gai has the advantage....in terms of skills and inteligence, kakashi has the advantage....gai is the sort of person that attack all they way and kakashi attacks based on strategy....in other words, they're both great...and maybe when they fight, i think its gonna be a tie....

hm...kakashis sharingan would be no use against gai.if he copies the jutsus he still won`t be able to do them because his body wouldn`t endure them or smthn like that.remember when sasuke and lee fought before the first chuunin exam?he copied the technique but he couldn`t do it because he wasn`t strong enough or smthn like that

well sharingan plain out cant copy taijutsu as explained when sasuke first got sharingan and fought rock lee before the first chuunin exam.

but i personally like kakashi more! he has so many techniques and he is the maker of the chidori which could annihilate anyone

kakashi owns gai in genius. besides kakashi has a sharingan.

They're both amazingly cool and strong, and i think a normal fight between those two never existed bcoz it's a tough decision... so although i think Gai rulz, im gonna go with kakashi. besides he is 10 times funnier and nicer and when he wants to get serious...he does!

lolz its obvius kakashi wins! why? bcoz they have fought b4 so kakashi would have (should have) copied gai's moves and kakashi is popular bcoz he is one of the great ninja in konoha (reputation speaks) gai is also great but remember you can't win with taijutsu alone! Yeah, I would have to go with the last choice simply because the question is sort of ambiguous. Even if it weren't though, it'd still be hard to answer... if it were better in a fight, that's hard to say -- genius vs. hardwork. Or if it were personality-wise, cool vs. hilarious. It's way too tough to call no matter how you look at it.

I have to say Kakashi is way cooler since he has the sharingan and all. Gai im not sure if hes really stronger then kakashi since so far all i've ever seen is Gai like deflect a attack or just launch like one attack and thats about it. Also compare there fashion sense Kakashi looks all cool with his headband like covering one eye and stuff while Gai wears these green tights....

They are limited scene where this two fight the enemy together. They should be more scene to this.

maybe a special episode featuring them fighting each other for a competition would be fantastic.

hey, nelsonkong u thriple posted ... thats breaking the rulez ... make sure a mod sees that ok ... gai is better in taijutsu and speed but kakashi is better in ninjutsu and genjutsu and using the brain but genjutsu most likely wont work on gai only high levels one ... gai is good in will .... so low level genjutsus wont work ... maybe itachi's one would ... but kakashi cant win him in genjutsu ... some of u guyz/galz says kakashi has an advantage becoz of sharingan i dun agree becoz gai knows how to deal with the sharingan and gai is winning remember the 100 rounds fight gai:51 kakashi:49 so i voted gai yea ...

Itachis attack won't work on gai. He knows how it works so he doesn't look at his eyes. And if you remember epidode 100 then who knows how many "fights" like those they had. I like kakashi better anyway cos of his sharingan

You really cant compare gai and kakashi, Gai uses hand to hand combat styles, while kakashi uses his sharingan, it really depends on which you like better, fighting hand to hand or alot of cool techniques

I voted Kakashi coz he has the edge in the number of techniques and in intelligence. Im not saying Gai's an idiot either; just that Kakashi's waaaay smarter than Gai. (And waaaay cooler... but let's not cloud the issue .. oh wait - the question was who's better so maybe this counts ;) ) And yeah, Gai may have more physical "power" because of his taijutsu but Kakashi knows about them so maybe he'll find a way to counter it. Strategy'll win over brute strength. :D

Maybe Gai will find a way to trick his Sharingan. That is also possible. And anyway, since Gai is more like a Naruto character and, and Kakashi more like a Sasuke character, I would say Gai is better. :)

Sharingan cant see or predict taijutsu
it can only copy predict whatever you want to call on ninjutsu and genjutsu
and Gai already knows how to defeat Kakashi's sharingan
theyve been rivals since they were in the academy
but it would be an basically equal match so i would say its all out of opinion

When Naruto and co. first met Gai, he even stated that he had won 50 matches, and Kakashi only 49. So it shows who's the underdog here. =P

The thing you remember is a flashback of when Gai was interviewing his students about their dreams and stuff. You know, the usual thing that happens when you get your students fresh off the Academy. Then Kakashi turned up and Gai challenged him or something.

The poll says nothing about strength, it simply says "Who's better". I don't care if Gai is somehow stronger (overall) than Kakashi, Kakashi is still way better because he's so easy going, apathetic and awesome.

Psh. Kakashi, no joke. Not just because he's hotter, but because he's cooler, and he has the sharingan. And he's so scrumptious!

I dunno who`s stronger, but Gai seems a little narrow minded (no ofense), Kakashi is much more versatile, he also has that intoxicating charisma, and of course, the Sharingan. As for Gai he seems to be good (but really good) at only hand to hand combat...

Anywho, they're equal. Kakashi's got the sharingan, Gai has super speed. Kakashi knows 1000+ jutsus, Gai can open all the gates. They're both cool and equally strong, but Gai's funnier.

It depends on what you mean by better. If you mean faster, then definitely Gai, if you mean stronger, then probably Gai. He is a taijutsu master after all. If you mean who has the most ninjutsu and genjutsu techniques, then definitely Kakashi. If you mean who is winning their rivalry then it is Kakashi. I'd say that they are fairly even but if they were in a life or death battle I don't know who would win because Gai never looks Kakashi in his eye when they fight, he just looks at Kakashi's feet. So the Sharingan probably wouldn't work, but Gai's movements would be limited to watching Kakashi's feet. So it's probably a tie.

Kakashi probably wont be able to handle Gai if Gai's speed and techniques are similar or even better than Lee's, thats if Gai only uses taijutsu tho, however if Gai uses Ninjutsu then kakashi shall PWN him
