This chapter was weak.

The explanations didn't bother me, those are necessary so we can understand the intricacies of the magic system in Magi. What disappointed me is the lack of potency on both sides. The magicians suck without large scale group channeled spells, their solo spells can be block by small boulders. I was expecting the finalists to be ripping this place to shreds with powerful kicks and shit and now they're having difficulties dealing with some of the bolgs ? They can't kick through steel ?

Lame. I did like the Mor joke from Aladdin, hopefully the metal vessels start coming out once Aladdin finishes powering up.

terrible chapter..mangahere copy was horrible...not the battle I expected...Water, swimming, lightning, bolgs...I mean the sequence wasn't smooth nor the explanations..just a throw together chapter....

yup as far as i remember this is the first bad chapter i have read. But i don't think Alladin is powering up. I think there is somethings bad happening to him because of the stones. Cant say it for sure coz of the print.

yeah the FIRST bad chapter I can RECALL! I think his body is responding to the stones not being there. He is trying to absorb the Rukh around him and his body is possibly not able to hold that much of a quantity as he is familiar with. As he said his body (right now) is not use to that much Magoi being stored. What he should do is just give the rukh to the magicians so they can use their techs over and over. Like he did with Alibaba with his heat magic. So there are two barriers left. I think we all thought the entire barrier was being destroyed...(I know I was) Really want Lady Schereaza (or whatever spl) to face off against Aladdin...at least for a conversation...Aladdin has yet to meet a Magi who will allow him an audience. I am just ready for Alibaba honestly lol

I wouldn't say this is a bad chapter. The Finalist seem to fight as individuals while the magicians fight as a coordinated team. What this showed was that strategy & teamwork can overcome brute force (at least for now). I don't see why people expect the Finalist to just steam role everything without at least some type of resistance. Allot of you are totally writing off the magicians before they even got a chance to do anything.

For high level magicians they are failing to impress.

What is going to happen when the Kou empire rolls into this ?

The magicians are losing to gunpowder bombs and a squad of brawlers, and the Reim empire is having difficulties with a tiny country despite their huge numerical advantage. The Kou empire was stated to have accumulated a shit load of metal vessels, so from where I'm standing the Magicians and the Reim forces are fucked.

They will dominate obviously considering that the Kou are considered the main antagonist nation. Al Sarmen seems to be working out of the Kou and the fact that Gyokuen is the Kou Empress now.

Magic losing to science how is this a bad concept?

Actually the brawlers (Finalist) seem to be struggling against the magicians at least for now.

A country consisting of powerful mages. Something the Leim don't seem to possess.

Isn't that the point though? The Kou are supposed to be the most powerful & the magicians are supposed to lose to Leim. The big battle against the Kou isn't going to be with Leim but rather with the Seven Seas Alliance. I thought it was fairly obvious what the power structure of the nations were.

The Finalist are supposed to survive this encounter so they can face the Kouga in a future arc were they'd most likely lose.

Well, if Aladdin can manage to stop this war and talk with the magi from the Laim empire there could be a chance of an alliance between the two countries. They could join forces and fight against the Kou empire.
