Theres a difference between off-topicness and spam.

Off-topciness is when your not talkign about the topic the thread was made for... spam is....spam. If a thread about no pants is made then in that thread you will talk abotu no pants... if a thread about the ^<v game is made...then you will be doing the ^<V game.... FOO!.

Exactly. As 6n6 said, a thread about pantriarcal tyranny is spam. Stupid Pointless Annoying Message(s). However, if someone were to start talking about, say, kittens in that thread; that would be off-topic.
