Tips on finding a Wii or whatever other system you want

First of all, don't go to those sites like wiiseeker.com and wiitracker.com and the like. Hell, don't even look in this thread for constant updates on how to get a Wii or anything of the like. Any information you find will be 12 hours old at the very least and all the systems will be gone. You want to get a gaming system? Here's how:

If you go into an EBGames or Target or anywhere that sells the system, then don't expect any information from the people that work there. They will say the same thing: "Sorry, we don't know when we'll be getting our next shipment. There might be some next week." Something along those lines will be told to you with an exhasperated tone and a far off look like the employee would rather be jumping into a pile of shit than talking to you.

So what do you do? Easy. Find out when their last shipment came. For example, say Wal-Mart got a bunch of Wiis in today. Too bad they're all gone... Basically, these big stores will get about 20 or so systems per week on an almost weekly basis. That means that in exactly 7 days, that store will likely get another shipment.

Try and break a deal about reserving one, even if the store supposively doesn't "do" that sort of thing. (They normally do, but only under extenuating circumstances.) Claim that your neighbor was able to reserve a Wii for their last shipment and that you think you should be able to get one too. Remember, be nice about it and don't kick up a stink. Play up the "I'm a sad lonely person that just wants a ___ system to have a little happiness in my life" angle.

If they still say no, ask politely to talk to the manager. Repeat the same process. If they still say no, then move on and apologize for wasting their time. Ask if you can at least get a phone call when they find out they get them. They most likely will agree to that much to appease you.

Move on to another store and repeat. You will eventually get a console. However, keep in mind that it's almost 100% luck. You might have a better shot if you have a very likeable older figure, such as a wiley grandmother or grandfather. They are usually able to jerk the heart strings of employees much better.

Happy hunting.

I've been using such wily ways, and as of yet have not obtained said Wii.
Of course, it's only a matter of time. I'll get it eventually.

Awesome advice =P

Or, if you have a megaphone, you can do it the immoral/impractical way. (I picked one up for 19 bucks and a liquidation place.)

Put on a blue vest/beige jeans and go out on a day that best buy claims to have gotten some wii In. Remember to go well before the store opens and before they give out the "tickets" for the wii. (They give as many tickets and they have wii so you cannot get a wii without one). Maybe an hour and a half before. Then pull out your megaphone and inform any crowd lined up out side that there has been a mistake and there are NO wii at the store. Chances are, people are going believe you, because, fuck, What normal person has a megaphone? A normal megaphoen runs at 200 dollars normally.

Now, you better hope to fuck that no employes come out before everyone leaves, or else some nerds are goinr to be kicking your ass.

the immoral way sounds nice, but I don't own a blue vest...

ehem, anyway. I wish I could pull this off, unfortunately my grandmother is senile and would probably forget what the system is called by the time we get in line, and I'm incredibly lazy to try.

My advice.... Just get a damn wii when it's available online or at least in a somewhat large abundance, you never know what new crap they'll come out with as the months go by.... heck, there might be a good deal later on. I'll wait at most maybe 6 months...or until I can steal a grandmother from the street and use her when I go to the store manager.

Corbenk: The problem with your way is that everyone will know you aren't actually from Best Buy when you don't walk out FROM the store and then do not return INTO the store. Additionally, real Best Buy employees will hear your announcement since the people that open the store get in about an hour before it has to officially open to the public. They'll come out to see what the big hubub is.

No, I thought about that, all you need to do is kill the best buy employes and anyone who disagrees with you.

I said it was immoral, did I not?

That's true too.

You don't want to got to someone and say

You:GIVE ME YOUR WII
Man:okay! please don't shoot me!!!
You:Just give it to me right here and now! Give me every thing you got! Make me feel alive again.......
Man:okay!*trembles* you gonna bend over? *unzipps pants*
You: HOLD UP!!!!!!! NOT THAT WII!!!!! NINTENDO WII!!!!!!
Man:I don't know any nintendo employees that will have sex with you!!!
You:NO YOU FREAKING IDIOT!!!! THE VIDEOGAME SYSTEM!!!
Man: I don't own any of those male sex videos that are games...*trembles*
You:You know what? JUST LEAVE!!!!!!
Man:*runs away crying*

Well anyways you can convince someone at school to buy a different console and bash the current one. They will relies how little money they will get for a trade in and offer to buy it off their hands because your such a good friend.
