Jump Ultimate Stars - USA Needs this game!
JUMP ULTIMATE STARS is a fighting video game developed by Ganbarion and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. It is the sequel to the popular Nintendo DS title, Jump Super Stars. The game was released in Japan on November 23, 2006. The game premise is similar to Nintendo's multi-character platform beat'em-up series, Super Smash Bros., except that it uses characters from Weekly Jump rather than Nintendo.
The game keeps many features from its predecessor, and adds many more. The game now has over 300 characters from 41 different Shōnen manga series compared to 160 characters from 27 different manga in the original. However, the characters from Hikaru no Go and Mr. Fullswing do not return in this sequel. Gameplay Decks The bulk of the gameplay is based around using koma (manga panels, which also means "Panel" in Japenese.) that represent characters to create decks on a four by five grid. Koma come in various shapes and sizes, taking up one to eight blocks. There are three types of koma that can be initialized in battle. They are called help, support and battle koma. Each of these types have different roles in a deck, and are utilized to battle Help koma are one panel koma that can give different boosts to characters they are placed next to. Support koma are two or three block koma that represent a character that are to help in battle. The character appears and does an attack, boosts a character's abilities with a powerup, or heals a character. Battle koma are four to eight block koma that are used to battle. They are based off various manga panels and are used to represent what kind of special attacks the characters have. Each battle koma comes with a certain nature. These natures, laughter, power and knowledge, act in a Rock, Paper, Scissors relationship with power beating knowledge, knowledge beating laughter, and laughter beating power. The stronger type will deal more damage to the weaker type. When making a deck, the player must have at least one of each type of koma before the deck can be used in battle. A leader character also must be chosen. This character will always be the default character in battles and will represent the deck. Two optional hotkeys can be set to automatically switch to a character or use a support character when the L or R buttons are pressed. Battles Battles commence in arenas made to look like the page of a manga. Each arena has a unique background and obstacles based off of the different manga series. They also contain a variety of different platforms. Many are static while others will move, break, or disappear and reappear randomly. Certain walls and floors are also destructible. Re: Jump Ultimate Stars - USA Needs this game!
there's so many good games out on the ds that unfortunately they can't be bothered, or don't want to translate.
jump ultimate stars though, unless they get a professional, will take a while to translate and considering that theres like 3 anime in that list i can pick that may have not been shown in america, they can't bring it over. they haven't even translated bleach heat the soul for you and its already taking long to translate all the naruto games if only every company were like square enix. fast and efficient |
Re: Jump Ultimate Stars - USA Needs this game!
Sorta like the people said above, this won't be coming to the U.S. because alot of the shows and series included are a) not released or releasing here in the U.S., or b) very obscure. You can import them, and I imagine you can work your way through the menus.

Re: Jump Ultimate Stars - USA Needs this game!
There's no way it'll be translated, too much licensing issues for an american company to handle. If you want the game just import it, I got it a few months ago and It wasn't that hard to figure out, theugh there is the small occasion of visiting gamefaqs and finding out what the missions mean, and the effects of your Koma. But it's a great game and the language barrier doesn't kill the game at all. Just get it 0_0 (start a JUS wifi club)
OTC: yeah even though square enix is efficient their games are also more expensive (slightly more like 5-10 bucks, meh I'm knit picky about those sort of things)) |
