it's totally better to jsut buy the mangas.
if you are really interested in ALL the mangas in the magazine it's not a waist of money, but if you only like a couple, work it out by the chapters (one chapter permagazine, remember, and about 7 per manga (depending ont he manga)) it usually costs less,a nd lasts longer than buying the magazine
