Cow-human cross embryo lives three days

Quote:

HUMAN-cow embryos have been created in a world first at Newcastle University in England, hailed by the scientific community, but labelled "monstrous" by opponents*.

A team has grown hybrid embryos after injecting human DNA into eggs taken from cows' ovaries, which had most of their genetic material removed.

The embryos survived for three days and are intended to provide a limitless supply of stem cells to develop therapies for diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and spinal cord injuries, overcoming a worldwide shortfall in human embryos.

*Catholic Church

I'm only against this because I feel that they should have used grizzly bears instead of cows. Bear-men, fuck yeah.

But yeah, I think NL needs more stuff like this. Articles and news that is, not cow-humans.

Wow.......

It would be very funny if around about 50 years from now half of our society is like animal hybrids! There would be like an entire civil rights movement like the right to vote and go to intergrated schools! ROFL! Then Martin Luther Zebra Jr. would give a speech about wanting quality. It is funny just thinking about it! Instead of racism, people will be animalist where they think one animal is superior to another. We would have an animal civil rights movement in 2069!!! ROFL!

But anyways I seriously doubt that anyone would let those things grow past he 14 day limit. I mean, no matter what we do, there will always be some dictoator who will try and replicate the results to create an army of half animal, half human hybrids. Then, the hot issue won't be nuclear weapons as it threat, it will be an army of animal hybrids.

I wonder if it did grow up, how would it look like? Would it look like in the cartoons where they have arthroprogenic animals that walk and talk or will it look like some mutant sciene project gone wrong with a bunch of deformities and patches of hair.

You guys do realise that the emybros are 99.99% human, right? =P

It's nothing particuarly spectacular. It's just a "controversial" issue because the Catholic Church believes it has some kind of authority/say in everything for believing in God.

difference between human DNA and monkey dna is only about .01% between human DNA and rat DNA is even less..

not saying that the experiment is unnatural, just pointing out that with genetics even .01 could be drastically different.

Stem cells...I might have known. Catholic Churches love this topic. They don't complain much when scientists "keel" embryos to get cures for Alzheimer's etc. So, what's so bad with crossing a cow and human dna for the same goal.

Main problem at the moment. Thus the cow-men will not be able to function properly in society. =/

All cows start out as embryos.
