List of freeware softwares for Graphic making and editing.(with program descs)
 

I made this list of stuff because i thought it might help anyone who is graphicing. I do use some of these because there good and they work really well with nearly any operating system. Also this most of these are free or else have a demo.

Also forgive that i posted three times, because i needed the space to finish the list.[Sitcky Please!]

Free Paint Programs

Ultimate Paint
Paint program for Windows for photo editing and image creation with support for many file formats. Freeware and shareware versions are available. Also has an excellent GIF and JPEG optimizer.
ArtRage

iMageFast and Simple graphics editor for Linux and Windows. Supports 8, 16, 24 and 32 bit images. Excellent at tile editing, cropping and cleaning up images. Supports GIF, BMP, JPG, PCX. Split view zoom and basic graphics file support.

ImageForge

MonkeyJam
Free animation program for Windows. PlantStudio

MathGV
Free program for Windows to draw mathematical functions. It can plot 2-dimensional, parametric, polar, and 3-dimensional functions.

Vis5D
Vis5D is a system for interactive visualization of large 5-D gridded data sets such as those produced by numerical weather models. Well i haven't used every single one but i would say their good as PS but i would say that it depends on what you like.

Depends what version of photoshop you're comparing these to.
And it all depends on your style and what you like to work with.
Lost of people like photoshop just because it's pretty simple to use.
