Rossetta Stone?

Anyone use it? If so how does it work?

It is pretty cool. I tried a demo once. It has multiple learning features. One that shown on the commercials is the one where you pick the picture of what the person is saying. You've sparked my interest.

I was thinking about learning some japanese and figured this may help. I took Japanese class in 8th grade and pretty much forgot everything now. All I can do is recognize hiragana and katakana characters and minimal kanji. But, it is really expensive. So if I do wind up getting it, it will eeither be a gift from my rich aunt and uncle or off of limewire or something.

Argg. Pirates don't do the fruit. We plunder like a torrent. We be using our bay for trade.

Take the clues in said phrase and get yourself some stone. I think it is an all in one package at 13GB.

lol i know exactly what you mean. i only have japanese at the moment and learning how to read fluently. it's a perfect practice time for reading kana and kanji. the 13 GB package contains 10 languages at least.

HOw is the japanese package? Is it that helpful? I couldn't get it because my computer broke, so now I use the family computer and I can't fuck around on it.

well it does help a lot when you're trying to read fluently and recognize as much kanji as possible. but i'm not using it as a stand-alone component. i'm using different materials for spoken japanese and learning all the kanji characters. but yeah the program is really helpful as a supplement.

I just bought the RS for Chinese, so I could brush up on the language before I take the course at my Uni.
