Novemeber 11 - remember.
Yeah, so not going to get all preachy and stuff on you, but it is Remembrance/Armistice Day. So take a moment and think on this:
In the 20th century alone, it is estimated that war, conflict and internal strife (oppression/genocide) caused 33 million military deaths and 170 million "civilian" deaths. The majority of military deaths were young men and woman in our age ranges. The civilians deaths were those born at the wrong place in the wrong time. Currently, the UN recognizes 7 active wars and 20 other "minor conflicts" in the world today. So, if you have been touched by war, remember. If you have not, reflect and thank whatever you believe in that you are so fortunate. Hope you never have to know. EDIT: A Wikipedia list of wars since 2003. You can link jump to a list of all war and current war from there. Best use of Wikipedia this month by far. |

Re: Novemeber 11 - remember.
I was touched by war directly in 1999. Now, only minor conflict. Which is not stopping really, but it isn't affecting the whole country.
