Lily stood up, her hands and body tight. “Wait a second. I didn’t even want this! Just give Horus the damn title so we can call it a day.”

H_I shook his head. “Are you kidding? This is great entertainment right here. Two members, going head to head, and with yours truly at ring side, it’s to much fun to just watch you give up.” He waved as he walked back to where the rest of the Mods were sitting. “You got my vote, Lily.”

When H_I was seated, Verm stood up and held out his hands to quiet the crowd. “There has been a slight change in the program as it seems. Unfortunately, we have only prepared a task made for one person, so we will heighten the game flow.” Verm turned his attention to giant black doors on the opposite of the coliseum. “Behind those doors, is a Virus that our competitors must defeat, sounds simple enough right? Shino and myself have now agreed that not only must they defeat the Virus but also defeat each other. We have only one available spot with two people, as you can see this is our only way of deciding who is stronger.” Verm motioned with his hands for Tenten and Ph3 to open the doors.

Tenten and Ph3 gave him a thumbs up in their evening, sparkling green gowns before pulling hard on the door. Once it gave way, it let out a low, moan and dust rose from around it. Lily and Horus took a step back as crimson eyes opened slowly within the darkness.

Verm’s voice boomed over everyone’s beating hearts. “We will make a promise as of now that no matter what happens, we will not step foot from our seats. Your lives are in the hands of these two members.” With a triumphant smile, Verm slowly sat back down.

Shino looked over at him. “I don’t remember even agreeing to half of what you told them.”

Kagami also eyed Verm. “Is it really wise to make such a promise? They have no powers what so ever, how will they defeat something like that?”

Verm kept his face forward but eyed Kagami. “Don’t worry, I have full confidence that no one will be harmed.”

H_I threw his head back and gave a booming laugh. “You’re making one hell of a gamble, Verm, you witty bastard.”

Daisuke looked from Verm to Lily and back to Verm. “Remember that promise I made in the forest, Verm?” Daisuke didn’t wait for Verm to respond. “I still stand by that.”

Verm closed his eyes and laid his cupped hands properly in his lap. “You all need to relax, the Virus I chose is nothing more then a Level 1. I’m sure they’ve seen worse.”

Lily took a step behind Horus. “These people really are insane.”

Horus flicked his nose and smiled. “Heh, what’s wrong? Are you scared of an itty bitty Virus?”

Lily narrowed her eyes at the back of his head. “I’ve seen Virus’s, and none of them that I have seen have been ‘itty bitty’.”

Above the coliseum, Zi and Ribbon materialized and landed gently on the roof. “Is that her?” asked Ribbon bending down to get a closer look at Lily. “She doesn’t look like much, and she’s not very pretty.” Ribbon smiled up at Zi. “You’re definitely way prettier then she is, Zi.”

Zi flipped her long black hair over her shoulder. “Flattery will get you flattened, Ribbon.” She cracked her knuckles. “That Virus, down below is nothing more then a baby. Typical humans, think they can just take anything they want to and make it theirs.” She snarled. “They make me sickened just thinking about them.”

Ribbon rocked back and forth on her heels. “Don’t forget that you were once human too, Zi.”

“Once.” Zi walked gracefully along the roof. “But that was a long time ago.” She reached down the breast opening of her shirt and pulled out a small blue orb. “How boring this will be, even without Black Rose, Lily and that idiot standing next to her can easily kill it. It’s not even strong enough to defend itself from even the slightest kick.” The small blue orb hovered slightly in her hand, a swirl of smoke danced within it. “Lets spice things up a bit.”

Zi tossed the small orb as if it was nothing down below. It gently brushed that ground before picking up speed and flying directly into the darkness from behind the doors.

“What was that?!” demanded Daisuke, standing up in his chair.

“It’s a Hacker Item!” replied H_I, extending his hand as a S. Mod staff materialized.

“No,” said Verm casually. A waitress kneeled before him and offered him a martini. “Let’s see what happens,” he said with a smirk taking the beverage.

Horus and Lily both looked at each other. “What do you think is going on?” Horus asked trying to hide the fear in his voice. “Think it’s part of the test?”

“I’m not sure.” Lily looked up and saw two women, a young girl and older looking woman standing upon the roof. A shiver past along her spin as she stared into their eyes, nothing but darkness and chill behind them. A light burst through the doors that sent Tenten and Ph3 flying backwards.

“Tenten! Ph3!” cried Lily running up to them to see if they were alright. Before she reached them, a hard thumping against her wrist made her stop. Her bracelet was going crazy, worse then it had when she had been surrounded in the forest. Lily slowly raised her gaze to a five story Virus emerging from the doors. It’s skin the sickening color of dark gray, boils popping along its body. It threw its head back and gave a loud gurgled roar that shook the very foundation that they stood upon.

Verm happily sipped his drink as he watched. Daisuke gripped onto the arms of the chair again and glared at Verm. “Level 1 huh? Shino, give me a hand here!”

Shino continued to stare forward. He tapped his foot fast against the ground. “Lets just see what happens. If it gets to bad, we’ll jump in.”

“But Lily might die!” cried Daisuke.

Verm sighed and played with the little umbrella in his drink. “Daisuke. Daisuke. Daisuke. Have faith, my friend. She needs your support if she is to stay alive.”

Daisuke slapped Verm’s drink from his hand. He shot up from his chair and gripped hard onto Verm’s collar, shaking him slightly. “This isn’t one of your stupid games here! We’re playing with peoples lives!” Daisuke felt Kagami and H_I’s hand slip around his forearms. “I can’t sit back here and watch!”

“Then leave,” Verm replied casually. “No one is forcing you to watch this. I just figured since you two were friends and all you would support her. I mean, even the little pink haired girl is cheering Lily on.”

Lily and Horus backed away, slowly. “Horus, if we tag team it….” Lily felt a hard hit in her gut and felt her feet leave the ground. Colors and textures blended together, sounds of the crowd cheering rang in her thumping ears. It felt like forever before she touched ground again. She coughed, trying to get her air back. Her vision was blurry as she tried to stand. It took her a few seconds to realize it wasn’t the Virus that had hit her. “What the fuck is your problem!?” she screamed.

Horus approached her slowly, like a animal closing in on its wounded prey. “Didn’t you hear the rules? Not only do you have to defeat the Virus but your competition as well.”

Lily felt something trickle from her mouth; she wiped it with the back of her hand. She looked down at a soft, pink stain on her hand. “Idiot!” she cried, jumping up and throwing her hands in front of her face. “We have a high level Virus standing in front of us and you want to settle the score now?! What the fuck is…Whoa!” She cried, jumping backwards as Horus kicked high into the air.
