Pieces of the ends of Lily’s hair fell to the ground. Had I not moved, he would have kicked my head off. “Horus! Stop it!” she cried, ducking as Horus threw another punch. Horus laid on attack after attack, Lily didn’t have time to counter, all she could do was dodge for her life and continue to try and reason with him. “I thought we were friends!”

“We’re rivals! I already explained it to ya!” he replied back as he swooped a kick across the dirt to try and trip her. “All you know how to do is dodge huh?!”

“Horus! Back off!” Lily screamed, closing her eyes and swinging a punch as hard as she can. She felt relief as she felt it connect, but when she opened her eyes she saw she had done little to no damage. Horus took the opportunity and spun around and backhanded her across the side of the head. Lily skipped across the ground like a pebble across water before colliding hard with the ground.

Horus balled his hands into a fist and placed them triumphantly on his hips. He threw his head back and gave a booming laughter that rang through the walls of the coliseum. “I’m going to win this tournament hands-down. There’s no way you’re stronger then me when it comes to physical combat!” He continued to laugh as a large shadow loomed over him.

Lily opened her eyes slowly to the sound of a man screaming in sheer terror and pain. She mouthed, ‘Horus’. Her eyes shot opened as she saw the image of the Virus swiping across Horus’s back, his shirt burning off of him and the smell of his burning flesh filled the air. Lily sat up. “Horus!” she screamed.

Lily ran up behind Horus to catch him as he flew forward. She landed on her back and lost whatever breath she had left, she pushed it aside and sat on her knees cradling Horus. “Horus!” she pleaded. “Horus! Wake up, damnit! Say something!” She lifted him gently on his side to see the damage. His shirt was outlined with scorch marks as if someone had lit him on fire, his back was bubbling and flaking off. “What happened?”

“A Virus’s skin is made of nothing but pure acid, some even reaching a pH even lower then 1,” replied Verm to himself as he crossed his long legs. “Obviously, that was a pretty powerful Hacker Item someone threw down there. Maybe I was wrong about Lily, maybe she can’t handle this.”

“Don’t you even joke about that this late in the game,” Daisuke snapped.

Lily looked up as the Virus slid closer and closer, the earth sinking in under it’s weight. Lily felt her bracelet beat against her wrist, begging her to use it. She held Horus closer. If I turn into Rose everyone will know, everyone will hate me. Daisuke, will hate me. But if I don’t then I might die, everyone might die. Daisuke, might die. What do I do?

Kill me, Lily heard someone plead. She looked down at Horus but saw him still unconscious. Kill me, I’m in so much pain.

Lily looked up as the Virus loomed over her. Lily took a deep breath and nodded before gently laying Horus on the ground. “I’m not all that sure what I have to do.” She stated.

Kagami sat forward and cocked his head to the side. “What is she doing?” he asked as he watched Lily stand slowly and hold out her arms.

“Lily!” cried Daisuke standing up and running down toward Lily. He heard H_I, Kagami and Shino quickly follow after him.

She glared up at the Virus, her arms held out high to her sides as if she is getting ready to fly away. “But I know what must be done!” The Virus began to gurgle, but Lily understood.

The pain, the pain. Kill me.

The Virus’s erupted into a spectrum of bright lights that shot through the coliseum. Daisuke and the others stopped and shielded their eyes as the light quickly bathed over them. “Lily!” Daisuke cried.

Sakura hid her face. “Lily!” she cried.

The giant screen in the center of the town shot sparks unto the people below before exploding. Sakatsu held onto her long, brown cloak as an uneasy wind picked up. “She’s going inside,” she whispered as the hood of her cloak flew off.

Lily felt a soft, coolness beneath her feet. She slowly dropped her arms and opened her eyes. She was hovering just barely over a body of green water. Although she did not touch the water, ripples formed underneath her. She heard a struggle and grunting ahead of her and looked up.

The giant Virus that she had been fighting at the coliseum struggled beneath a fish net of blue energy. Every time it pushed against the net, blue shocks sent through it and made the Virus scream in pain. Lily took a few steps toward it. “You poor thing.”

“Kill me!” it pleaded.

Lily stopped but reached for it with her left hand. "Please, there has to be another way."

"You have to kill me! I won't stop until you are all dead." It chuckled manically. "Yeah, that's right. I'll slaughter you all and I'll become even stronger."

"You don't mean that," Lily found herself saying. She took another step forward and the Virus jerked causing another wave of shock to shoot through its body. "Stop that!"

"You humans are all alike. Come on, girlie, come on over and help me. Pull this trap off of me, you might get burned though." Lily made no indication of movement. "No? Yeah I thought as much. Typical disgusting human, always claiming to help but when it really comes down to it you just run away."

"Who says I'm running away? Have you seen my feet move backwards at any time?" Lily snapped.

"Pssh well you sure as hell aren't helping." It struggled against the net only to receive another shock.

"You should be yelling at the one who did this to you. This is horrible. What kind of thing would do this to you?"

"Human influence has done this to me and my fellow brethren." It hissed. "Ever since you humans moved into our home, we have been perceived as disgusting creatures that must be eliminated. Either kill me or go away and let me suffer and die."

"I will not!" Lily laid a hand over her heart. "If I want to become a Mod, I must protect the innocent." She flashed the Virus a big toothy smile. "But they never specified what kind of innocent." She ignored the insults and cries of pain from the Virus as it struggled against the net. "Now hold still, I'm going to get you out of this." She gripped onto the lining of the net but pulled her hand back fast when a burning sensation shot through her arm. "Ouch!"

"See, you won't help me. Just make it easier on both of us."

"Shut up you!" Lily snapped as she gripped onto the lining again, ignoring the pain and tugged at it. "Come on, give way already!" She felt a cooling sensation sweep over her left wrist and looked down to see her bracelet glowing a soft pink. "What the?" She clenched her eyes shut as the pink light grew brighter and bathed over her and the Virus. She felt the lining of the net slip away from her grasp.
