Perhaps. See, one of the first episodes I ever watched was The Cave of Two Lovers. I think that has a lot to do with why my view Aang and Katara is different. In that episode, I got the impression of mutual feelings between the two.

Amazon.com is selling book 1 and book 2 together for $90.48 I think its a great deal. I had to buy em seperately. They're definitely worth the purchase. If you can't use a credit card then a money order or check works too. ^^ Book 1 has my favorite fight, Katara vs a Master Water Bender.

She does try to provide moral support, an action not limited to our mothers =P
And I read on Wiki that Katara had to take responsibility in her village at an early age, which explains why she's trying to help guide Aang. She's used to taking care of others, or at least it seems this way.
