Re: Do the people really have a voice in government?
Absolutely none. As a former Democrat who supported Hillary Clinton, I found it despicable that the Democrates set themselves up to throw away votes like the election before. They had a responsibility to their base, and now thats why they're in trouble. They don't have few ideas that isn't based on their own wants and needs, otherwise they use polls to make up their mind for them. Republicans are truly the dark side of American politics as well, and independents need hold both parties feet to the flame, and torch them both for partisian politics. Partisian politics help no one but politicians getting ready for their next careers outside of government.

"Why, Mr. Kyf? Why do you do it? Why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you're fighting FOR something? For more than your Characters survival? Can you tell me what IT is? Do you even know? Is IT freedom? Or truth? Perhaps peace? Yes? No? Could it be for love? Illusions, Mr. Kyf. Vagaries of perception. The temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify a shinobi that is without meaning or purpose. And all of them as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love. You must be able to see it, Mr. Kyf. You must know it by now. You can't win. It's pointless to keep fighting. Why, Mr. Kyf? Why? Why do you persist?"
