I think Sasuke will be stopped by Naruto before he lands the killing blow or the Raikage will be blatantly killed. I can't see the point of keeping him alive though in plot purposes, it just overcomplicates things and having such a powerful shinobi as an anti-Madara ally seems to just ruin the sense of desperation we'll see shortly.

Also it seems obvious that Sasuke is being turned into Madara V2.0 through his embrace of hatred, most likely Madara wants to steal his eyes to become the new Sixth Path Sage.
