You can make a homosexual hero along with an epic story line that millions will admire..
Beside,What you mentioned about goku will sure make no story because the story style depends on "long life term" with goku having a boy and becoming a warrior like him and a grand son that will go in the same direction(breading is a serious plot key here),while it's a different thing in naruto as you know.
