I don't understand why we can't just let them build the mosque wherever they want. Even if it was on ground zero, why does it matter?

It is all evasion. People want to evade the fact that the Middle East is a serious threat the US, a serious threat which we should blow out of existence. Instead, we have to draw a lottery card every time we see a civilian. If we did this, no one who was sane would give a fuck about a mosque near ground zero.
