Yeah, been looking into it a bit. It is a whole new engine, but less focus on graphical improvement, and more about having a more dynamic environment. Controlling the fluidity of model animations appose to pixel count. Along with the evolutionary like npc and quest systems, seeking to bring a more realistic living world.
Which all sounds good. I do like the pretty colors and flashing lights as much as the next guy. Problem is that it's the major staple of each progressive game generation. But graphics are generally the last thing I would consider and critique about a game. Been saying it for years, as the technology becomes more powerful, and storage space became greater. The new available resources shouldn't all be used up by the 'greatest graphics possible' model. Developers should use the new technology to improve game play above all else anyway.
So this isn't really a negative in my book.
