I'll add Fallout 2 to that list as well, and it's available on Steam.

You won't regret a second of playing any of those games. They just need a bit to get going because, I guess, they are old. BGII's beginning is actually the most boring part of the game. After you get out of the first dungeon, the real game starts. Torment needs a lot of reading. You have to start it with a mindset of reading a book. And Fallout II is just as awesome as those two mentioned above. It has a cool storyline with lots of fun gameplay. I think it's the only game ever where you could kill the merchant and just take everything he had. Every other game gives you a lootless corpse.
For those interested in this, Planescape : Torment is the game with the best story ever in videogame era. No one who played this game disagreed with me on this.
The only game that comes close is, of course, the glorious MGS, but I can't put the games in the same category since, you know, they are
totally different.
Baldur's Gate (especially II) and Fallout II are a must really. They are jewels in my gaming experience much like older Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Tomb Raider games (only being RPGs).
So, in short, BG II, Fallout II and Planescape are, by far, the best RPGs I have ever played. Liked KOTOR, NWN and Mass Effect too, but not as nearly. Planescape for the best story, BG II for the best marriage of both story and action, and Fallout II because, goddamn, such an awesome game.
Edit : oh yeah, you can throw yourself into porn industry in Fallout II. How's that for awesomeness?
