Yeah, prior to the introduction of the Queen, I didn't care much for, or about the fish people. Felt bad for the Tiger Dude, and after this chapter, man that was a lot to take for kids to watch they're Mom die in front of them, and knowing who actually did it too, wow the Big Princess is as strong willed as her Mom to not tell the truth and stir up the hate.
She's quite similar to Vivi now that I think about it, in the same way that she's perceptive of how the adult world functions at a young age. Shirahoshi is just more emotional. I really like the Fishman Island arc, it wasn't the exciting arc were all imagined it would be but it was still good and answered a lot of questions about the Fishman race and why Arlong is the way he is.
