Fixed for accuracy. Considering that mainstream acts that write their own lyrics and compose their own melodies are rarer than the chupacabra, we have to blame the ones who actually create those lyrics and melodies and still manage to utterly suck at them (in an artistic sense, in a monetary sense they're geniuses).
