Re: US Ambassador in Libya Killed
I haven't read half of what's going on here (and i don't have time right now), but it looks like people are blaming religion for everything. Quite seriously I all really have to say is this:
Poverty. Rich promote it, makes people desparte, religion offers easy answers, creates rash and stupid behaviour. Poverty is a bigger issue in these cases for it is the root. Yes, organized religions are wrong to take advantage of it and create problems where there are none, but then governments and business are wrong to exploit many of these nations for resources for little gain to the citizens. If you create a populace who have little money, education and opportunity and throw in oppressive regimes and religion, shit will happen and it will be bad.
So blame Religion if you want, but it is not the heart of the problem. (Although, it is highly hypocritical for religions who preach love, charity etc to exploit the poor for their own agendas, often keeping the poor poor to keep their power and "moral" wants at the fore.)
It's amazing to me that, unlike in the real world, people on the internet will wear "everyone thinks I'm a moron" as a badge of honour.
